Prediction - first to win

Willy Z can't really compete in the birdie fests week in and week out. His best chance to win seems to be when it is really hard so...a major. I would take willy z over theegala in winning a major first, or even at all, but not a standard dartboard tour event.

Willy Z for sure. Love Theegala though and wish him the best.

You gotta be kidding lol.  Willy Z is 16th in birdie avg and 11th in scoring avg while Sahith is 71st in birdie avg and 82nd in scoring average.  I like both players but Willy Z is way better

Theegala seems more streaky so I could see him winning first. But Zalatoris will win a lot once the fist one is out of the way.

This was said about a lot of players - Ryan Moore, Charles Howell, Rickie Fowler, Chad Campbell, Tony Finau……..

The list of players that waited longer than expected for their first win then went on to “open the floodgates” as they say is very short. Duval is the only one off the top of my head that I can think of. Could maybe come up with another few if I thought harder, but Will Z is gonna be a 5 win career in all likelihood.

True, but of those you mentioned Zalatoris is a better player than all of them. Rickie Fowler was unlucky in a way to come a long at a time when there we few stand out young US players and everyone was desperate to find the next guy. He is better than most people will give him credit for but has never reached the heights that others hoped.

Zalatoris is amazing from 6 feet out. He will get over the line at some point.

We'll see.  Trey Mullinax is the next one with potentially open floodgates.

Interestingly, although Phil won a PGAT event as an amateur, he waited 13 years after turning pro to win his first major.  And then he ended up with 6.  Mark O'Meara waited 18 years after turning pro to win his two majors.

Both of those guys were regular winners of PGA Tour events. Very few wait a longer than expected time to win anything then like them up. Trey Mullinax?  Okey dokey.

Putting is so weird.  Zalatoris' stroke looks so much better outside 10-15 ft.  Too lazy to look it up but I'd be surprised if he wasn't in the top 50% from that range and longer.  But so many players at all levels just have ranges where they aren't comfortable.  For me it's in the 3-4 ft range.  But he still manages to make a lot of birdies and is near the top of lots of leaderboards.  And he seems overall he will have a more consistent career than Theegala.  I would bet Zalatoris gets a win before Theegala.
