I have not but thought about that shaft for sure. How is launch with it?

Same as ZF.  It's mid but flattens out at the apex.

Just picked up my first GD shaft in a XC6x that will be going in a TSR2 10 degree I’m demoing. Been eyeing GD forever but never pulled the trigger. Currently been using a Diamana BF 60tx which I like the ball flight and numbers of, and feels great. But something about that hard mid shaft kick it does can bring a hard left in on me out of nowhere. Just scares me haha. Hoping this will be a nice transition to eliminate that, while still feeling nice and smooth like the Diamana does.

I typically go for high kick point shafts as I have a pretty aggressive transition and can get handsy at times. XC seems to fit the bill

I feel you on the hard kick of blue board shafts.  Love the smooth feel but can be unstable at times especially on harder swings.  I had a TB 60TX that went out yesterday in a trade.  I'm getting a TPT Yellow 15 hi.  Jason Day is using the Lo version.  There's a lot of hype around this shaft and I'm hoping that it lives up to it.  Supposed to be very similar to the Diamana GT but smoother feel.  Fingers crossed.

Very interested in your thoughts on this . . .

The answer to better golf is work your butt off and learn how to hit it better, farther, and make more putts.

i have to agree with you about the HD, compared to all the other 7 Driver shafts I have it is clearly the best. DI comes in 2nd place and is the clear winner in the 3 wood ( I do not have a HD 3 wood shaft yet). I will definitely get a HD in a 3 wood to try out. Kaili Blue, Kaili Red, Ventus Red, Diamana S+, Hzrdus Grey, Hzrdus Black, were all not even close in the feel, flight and dispersion results.

Agreed. I had an HD 7 in my 3 wood for a little but but it was just a touch too low spin there for me in the head I was using at the time. I've also changed my course management and equipment philosophy since then to hold greens rather than chase distance.

As of right now i will stick with HD in driver and DI in the 3 wood. Just changed the adaptor on the XC so wondering if that fits into the equation anywhere. U ever try the DI in the hybrid?

I did - I did not like the DI or IZ hybrid shafts. They feel nothing like the woods. Very boardy and lack feel. Of the two the DI would be the better one but the AD HY was a huge surprise for me and I like it the best.

Do they still have the BB available? The DI and the BB are the only two I’ve played. Absolutely loved the BB but I’m afraid it will be too much low/low to throw in a Paradym Triple Diamond.

Even the “lowest” GD shaft is not really a true low/low like a HZRDUS black or Ventus Black for instance. I would call them low-er spinning mid bend variants that can have softer handles like the XC and GP do.

BB is not really a low/low shaft.  It maybe launches a hair lower than the DI, at least for me.

Agree on XC and GP. Spent time with both - XC was gamer for a few seasons - and both are more like low-mid launch.  I think the closest to low/low in the GD family is the M9003; most reviews of that shaft have "rebar" somewhere in the verbage.  GD never followed up on that shaft, unfortunately.

@bd59, XC was an updated version of BB - slightly stiffer mid and tip, with a bit lower launch.  BB will launch lower than DI, but its definitely not a low/low.  Not sure if GD is making them anymore, but you can find them on the 'bay at a reasonable price.

They're still making the BB.  BB has the softest handle in the GD line-up.  That's why despite the stiffer tip and midsection, it still fells pretty smooth.  Great fairway wood shaft, though I've really liked it with higher lofted (10.5-12*) drivers.

I think it’s funny they chose the AD VR paint scheme for the AD HY because if you asked me what that hybrid shaft line should be called in relation to the woods it would be the AD VR hybrid - so to me it’s a small hint from GD

Shafts weigh much less when cut down to size. I would stick with the next progression.
