Thick topline, too much offset, sole is absurdly designed, and what a poor finish. Shoddy workmanship is crystal clear for all to see here. Ping is truly gone off the rails

The thickness is more apparent from the short iron below. That said I can see a little bevelling so hopefully they set up to a thin topline, no thicker than i210 hopefully.

If you flip the image and zoom in, you can really see some extra detail which is not immediately noticeable.

Looks wise, I prefer the cavity of the i210.  

 

With Ping though, there's probably some actual performance enhancement leading to the new look.  Maybe the top half is i525/i59 like and hollow?

To my eye, they look much closer in size to a i525 then a i59. I’ll wait to see but top line does look thick, which I’m not opposed to. I was hoping for a thinner sole than the i525 and maybe some less bounce.

So this is why the cost has gone up with ping irons? You get a little 18 wheeler on the topline. That should be optional along with the arccos if you ask me. I will say thats pretty advanced to be able to shrink a semi truck and have it ride back and forth along the topline without falling off ever. Maybe its semi perimeter weighting technology?

Not sure about these yet. Extra 'clean' cavity back looks more like a i Blade and less like the i series (ie1, i200, i210) in the past, but I'll wait to see more photos.  Based on Ping's recent pricing I'm not sure I'd buy them as all their new clubs are way too expensive in my opinion. Big Ping fan and currently play the ie1 irons, but will wait to see the final product, and pricing.

This. I bet they shaved the back of the topline, to make it look a lot thinner than it is (they do it for most of their models fwiw)

Given the popularity of i210 on several tours and its success in retail stores: I doubt there will be a big departure in terms of looks and playability.

They will try to improve it without changing the chassis and characteristics too much, as the i-series are and always have been great for PING.

 

E.g. improved forgiveness, maybe easier launch in long irons and so on, without straying too much from i210.

tbh, everything else would be stupid and unexpected from PING.

I'll reserve judgement until I see one in my hands. I doubt if you'll see much difference from the 210's at address. Ping normally doesn't try to fix things that aren't broke.

It was on the i200 but not the i210 so it probably could be considered awhile.

Maybe it's just on the G series irons. It's certainly on the current G425 irons
