JT is testing between a 5 wood and the new 2-iron at St Andrews. He hasn't decided yet, but plenty of time before the event starts. We'll keep an eye on it.

I'm surprised he wouldn't go for a heavyweight graphite hybrid shaft like the Ventus Blue 10X or the DI105!

Links course 2-iron builds for the pros tend to be much more about accuracy and flighting the ball, not speed and height. Heavier weight steel is a better fit it seems.

I've been loving my T200 3 iron and it goes forever, can't imagine a 2. Almost wonder if having it run too much is a concern with how firm it's supposed to be.

With the way the fairways seem to be running based on what I'm reading, I'm guessing he puts this in play this week.

We are having a bit of a heatwave here in the UK for the past week (as much of a heatwave we get anyway 🙂 ) so the ground will be quite solid. They are expecting some rain on Friday though, nothing horrendous wind wise though (10 mph or so)

I was out there Sunday and Monday at St Andrews and the ball is going forever. Points where the ground underneath the grass was so solid that the grass was slippy!

 Ah man I am so jealous!! I stayed at Carnoustie in September last year. We took a drive down to St Andrews just to see the place in person. What a place! Hope you had a nice time.
