It’s not long been a Major and I’m not aware of the background to the decision-making. The British Ladies had similar status so it may have been to make a European trip viable for players. 
 

If you’ve been or played in Switzerland you will have seen the terrain - there’s a few hills around.

It's not a great sign for a "major" when it needs 2 sponsors.

 

I would've preferred sticking to Chevron, US Women's Open, Women's PGA, and Women's British Open, but I guess it's a necessarily evil to get more money to the players.

SYR went out in 30 but couldn't sustain it.  She needs a R3 like the 2018 KPMG; go outplay two players that are better than her (was Brooke and SHP then).

 

T3, 5 back of the lead and 2 back of second (which is another elite player).  Possible but less likely....🙏🙏🙏

Looking to be a great weekend.  Henderson and Kim will be playing their third consecutive round together with a Korda - this time Nelly in place of Jess.  😂

 

Tidbit - Sei Young Kim has played the Par-5s in -7 under through 36 holes.  She has birdied everytime except on the Par-5, 15th on Day 1.

(who I’m glad to see made the cut & will play this weekend… along with M.Castren’s miraculous comeback (+2 over the even-par cut line, with 2 holes to play… and finished 1-under after 2 good “birdie 🐣  - eagle 🦅 ” finishing holes!)

How amazing is Jeeno?

 

She's so underdone as a pro but just so utterly incredible as a ball striker and competitor.

 

Seems almost always in contention, when she doesn't win she is often there or there abouts or finishing with the wind in her sails from back somewhere.

 

A bit iffy/streaky with her short game but when that is performing satisfactorily she can win anything.

Here's what @tonyj5 says in his rookie mid-season report card thread. 

Sophia Schubert (26) If the season ended now she would be safe for next year as she is 93^rd in the RCME. Unfortunately for her there is still more golf to play and she still may need to do more. She has made the cut in half of her ten starts and sports a 72.57 SA (112th). Her 12^th place finish at the Lotte Championship is her best to date.

Can't believe Brooke missed that short putt for birdie at #18; she's been rock solid putting all day and all week.

 

She maybe OK, she leads by five shots other than So Yeon and Sophia.

Canadian rooting for Brooke. These janky broadcast times are driving me nuts though. Probably everyone else. 
Im a little disappointed in those calling her the “entitled Princess”. Or any other disparaging remarks for strong women players. Watch great LPGA players for what they are. Highly skilled ball strikers. Save your energy for the Saudi threads. 
 

Great tournament. I’m surprised a network isn’t carrying this hole to hole. Awesome golf course for a women’s major.
