East coast WRX builders?

Recommended Posts

I'm looking for someone on the East coast who'd be willing to build up an iron set for me if I send them the components. I hear it might be a "tricky" build with swing weight (buying the LA L series iron shafts and installing in ZX7) so someone with good experience and high recommendation would be appreciated. Any suggestions would be helpful! Thanks!

Second this. Will and his team do great work. I’ve done a bunch of business with them over the last two seasons.

I just built these up as an experiment set compared to my Miura Giken MC501’s. Yes. They swing weight much lighter and also something worth keeping in mind is the shaft is much thicker in the butt end. I generally play midsize with 1 full wrap and 1 bottom hand wrap but with these I went standard grip with 2 full wraps and 1 bottom hand wrap. Probably could have gotten away with 3 full wraps but I think at this point the experiment won’t be lasting much longer so I’m not too bothered.
Just food for thought. Something I wish I knew ahead of time and figure it wouldn’t hurt to pass it along.

Appreciate that! What didn't you like about the clubs that has you giving up on them?

Just very light. I have the MMT 125 TX at D6. I put some LA golf L series in some ZX7’s I have and nearly went through a full roll of lead tape trying to get it to D6. Granted the heads are 5 grams heavier to begin with but overall just a bit of a pain.

They feel pretty good though. Other than being so light I would give them a serious chance.
