'Hoping for a little links-like weather this week.

@Argonne69 you got your wish for links-like weather this afternoon!

i think i prefer fair-weather golf!

(I'm amazed they don't double-rain-glove, in this wet weather!)  🧤 🙌

Albeit In-Gee Chun's "flasher mac" wet-weather gear = quite  stylish!

(we miss @Argonne69's fashion thread!)

Nice leaderboard. A handful of major winners, along with a number of young players looking for their first win.

If Lydia could have made a putt coming in she would have the lead. Good position though.

I saw Lydia fix the cup on the 15th par 3. I thought only officials could do that?

A player is allowed to repair damage to the green, including the hole.

13.1c(2)/2 – Damaged Hole Is Part of Damage on the Putting Green

Damage to the hole is covered by Rule 13.1c as part of damage on a putting green. The player may repair a damaged hole unless the damage is natural wear that Rule 13.1c does not allow to be repaired.

For example, if the hole is damaged in removing the flagstick, it may be repaired by the player under Rule 13.1c, even if the damage has changed the dimensions of the hole.

Her irons today were incredible. Feel good for her to win the British

I got quite the chuckle when they put the Race to the CME Globe graphic about 5 minutes into the 1st round coverage on GC.  Sitting in 6th place was a player I hadn't heard of before - "LEXY THOMSON".  😀   I'd post a pic of it from my TV if I didn't think I'd get in trouble for it.  They also left out the 2nd syllable in the Korean players' names - "JIN KO", "HYE CHOI", and "IN CHUN".  I've seen that in the past, though.

(Edit: To clarify, I realize that wasn't GC's graphic.)

Why does GC have a million replays of the PGA round and can't even spare a time slot for the ladies.  You'd think they would show the replay at least once later in the day.  I know most have PVRs but the women really get the shaft.  No wonder the LPGA isn't as popular.  It's never on TV.  🤦‍♂️

I'm still steaming that the replays aren't available streaming on Peacock and/or NBC Sports App. Highlights are available on YouTube.

Don’t know about you but I found U.K. Sky coverage intolerable because of background noise from a road or runway and the broadcast timing.

I can only assume Sky’s proper equipment is at Muirfield. Very poor job altogether.

Yes - it was intolerable. The sound mixer was to blame for getting the balance wrong with the studio commentary. Somebody must have complained since it got better later in the round.

Thanks. I’ve noticed this on the coverage of many ladies’ events though not so pronounced as yesterday.

What putter is Lydia Ko using? Anyone know? She's been changing a bit recently.

Well I picked Jeeno out of nowhere to get her 1st LPGA win, then the next time I pick her she misses her 1st LPGA cut, good with the bad I guess lol  I did also go with Lyds so that's look good, she been looking primed with good play for a while now but Hye Jin Choi has too, so should be a good shootout.

Looking like I picked the wrong Ko this week. ☹️.  Hye Jin off to a rough start with a triple.

Lydia is using a Scotty Cameron P5 GSS putter which has a machine turned Aluminium sole plate.

Her putter has 'LYDIA' stamped on the extreme toe and 'KO' stamped on the extreme heel.
