I am sharing this SI article about alleged DV. While it's an ongoing situation,  I will refrain from making any personal comment on the timing of this story. The business of golf is at crossroad.

domestic violence is extremely complicated.  pretty often it takes victims years to finally leave a bad situation.  usually after leaving and going back several times.  an ugly situation all around.

Right, it just seemed you were implying it was her fault for staying. Abusers often control their victims by making them feel like they have nowhere else to go or that it would be worse if they tried to leave, which sounds like it was the situation here

I was implying nothing of the sort.  Apologize for any confusion.  Just stating fact that it wasn't a single incident and their relationship was anything but healthy for an extended period of time.

Exactly.  Given the high percentage of women who have experienced DV, there are dozens of other "golfers" who have not been exposed.  And that's just counting the LIV golfers.  Ooops!  Did I write that?  I am blaming Siri!

I was a caddy for a big shot executive for Bell Canada at the pro-am compenent of the 2005 Canadian Open and we paired up with Pernice.  What an arsehole.

I should've been more specific.  In the past, stories like this in the PGAT would've never made the cover of SI. Are we gearing up to similar scandals that were dealt with behind the scenes? That's all. Thanks

True, but not so long ago SI was run by a bunch of dinosaurs who thought people still subscribed to print magazines.  A few years ago they were bought by a real digital media company and now they bring a lot more content forward.  This still would not be a "cover" story, especially now that there are a lot less "covers" from SI.  But getting it on a website...for sure!

I get this, but what is the PGAT supposed to do?  She never filed charges, and he was suspended for 30 days. She wasn’t willing to pursue it legally but expected someone else to pursue it professionally for her?  Hey suspend this guy again for something I said he did but won’t testify to under oath?  Just doesn’t compute. I’m not saying he didn’t do it or isn’t a piece of trash, but if she can’t be bothered to press charges then it’s just hearsay.

Yeah...read the story on SI.  She thought so too when they first met.  She does high level marketing for Champions Tour events...can find her on the web and think to yourself why would she ever pair up with this guy that is 20yrs older than her.
