6 drivers and 7 driver shafts so far this year...still have 2/5.

Oh, I hear that the new Titleist TSR drivers are seeing increased ball speeds....put me down for a couple.

But after that no more...I am done.

😜

So after all that, what was the greatest distance gain from those 6 drivers from whatever driver you started the year with?

Had to be 20 yards.  You don't buy a new driver without the 20 yard promise...

Rogue Max LS/9.0/Ventus Blue 6 (60g). Unfortunately, I can't remember the loft setting that was right (I just hit them and didn't ask too many questions, hopefully I'll get an answer to the question I sent him last night before I tee off today about whether I leave it at 9 or set it to 10, etc.).

Gains weren't huge over the regular Mavrik I have now (which I bought used off Callaway pre-owned last year because I didn't think the Mavrik SZ I got fit for was right for me, lol), but they were significant.  Higher launch, more distance (in a more consistent way).  Tried a bundle of different shafts, a couple of other options - Stealth (no good for me), Ping (ick, sorry Ping lovers), and some different shafts with my current driver head, so I felt pretty confident about it being the right fit.  I'm only going to hit it so far, lol, but was getting around 6-7 more yards on average and finding the "fairway" on the range with a nice ball flight.  At least I know I was loose - it was 92 degrees and humid in the bright sunshine last Friday, had to put on a glove!

I'm sure I'll be in every fairway but the right one in about three hours, haha.

I dig it, got a deal on Epic last year hit it fine but sound was awful compared to Mavrik.  Hit Stealth outside loved it, not the price though.  Hit one ball with buddies 425 Max loved it.  I guess I let $$$ dictate sometimes good or bad.  Got $300 with trade in bonus still adjusting to Rogue but sound and feel much better for me.  Good luck to all!

Got a Sim 2 last year after hitting Ping for a about a year.  Been hitting it quite well, longer than the Ping, can work it left and right, really been hitting it well this year. No urge to try anything else.

Played withy friend yesterday who had the exact configuration of Sim 2 I have and upgraded to the Stealth this year.  He finally got me to try his, hit it twice, both bombs dead center of the fairway.

God damn it, he's got me thinking about it.

Same.  Current head produces ideal numbers for my swing speed and I like the looks, feel, and sound.  Current shaft also a nice fit and an excellent baseline upon which to return - but, happy to explore a bit in a quest for even tighter impact patterns.

For the first time in my golfing life, I am too. I found an absolute gem in the Epic Flash SZ Double Diamond. Best I've ever owned by a mile. Now I can focus on replacing this RBZ 3 wood 😄

Have to say I'm with you.  I started feeling that way a couple years ago, little new interests me. Been playing an Original One, which has been an improvement over my larger sticks.  Not just direction, but even distance.

The 300 Mini has been the only exception to the above, especially with reports from those who felt it an improvement over the OO.  Picked up a 300 a bit earlier this year to test against the Original One.  Feel like I can call it good.

The only thing I'm doing now is testing a few shafts in the 300, see what comes out on top.

Tee game has never been better.  Though, that's not saying much; I had considerable room for improvement.  😉

I just went backwards myself. Got a ts3, just looks right to me at address. I’ve been trying everything new at the store lately, with the right shaft they are all basically the same give or take 5 yds. Usually the ones with 5 more have looser dispersion pattern. I’m done. At least until I see tsr….

Since driver head technology and COR are pretty much at the max for everything produced over the past 4-5 years, and my old guy swing isn't changing much, I am staying with my G driver. But having lots of fun chasing a couple extra yards, tighter dispersion, etc. via various shaft swaps, hosel settings, counterbalances, grip changes, and lead tape. I guess I just found out that I could have as much if not more fun tinkering around with a good head than buying something  allegedly newer / better and starting the whole process over. And cheaper too! Thank goodness for adjustable / removable shaft hosels!

You could start a GoFundMe here on GolfWRX. I could kick in a few ball marker coins. And a broken tee.

I done at least for the year after my 5th driver of the year I settled on the Callaway Rogue MAX D with GD AD HD5 shafts. Can't say it super long but it is long enough but Wow! is it ever a fairway finder for me. It's so nice to either be in the middle or the left side of the fairway around 70% of the time. Helps with my GIR stat's

Guilty as charged, have gone through at least 12 failed attempts over the past 4 years and still with the ‘17 M2 and actually have a back up head.  I just have not found anything over time on the course that provides enough enhancement to change.  Hoping… key word to not fall into the trap again of newer is better.

I was chasing for a while as well.  Was loving the tsi3 for the past year.  Hit some of my longest drives with it.  I’ve been a Titleist woods guy for a long time. Then I picked up a rogue st triple diamond and it has really impressed me.  Handles my miss better and is so easy to hit a fade or a cut it’s silly, which is my preferred flight.

Tsi3 is prob my favorite looking driver since the 975d.  But I just love the neutral set up on the TD.  Will be hard to beat the consistency I’m finding with it.

Played the G400 max for a while (fairway finder but I seemed to loose a little distance). Then gave the Cobra Speedzone Extreme a chance (just never became consistent with it).  Ended up going back to my old faithful Cobra ZL Encore. I have both the 9.5 degree head and a 10.5 with various shafts. I play the Motore F1 stiff in the summer and the F3 regular in the winter.
