What’s up with the half-hearted hugs and back patting at the end of a round? Can’t they just shake hands?

Some women like full on hugs, but some are reluctant to do so because dirty old men will speculate wildly. 

 

I'm all for a full on hug with grinding.

My favorite part is when the guys take off their hats and attempt to fix the sweaty hat head, then extend the same hand for a shake. 🤮

Her IG account is quite the follow.  It's half practice swings and putting tips, and half prepping for going out to the club.

Theres maybe a handful of "handshakes not hugs" ladies. Catriona Matthew is the queen of the movement. Always fun to watch rookies approach her to hug only to get the stiff arm handshake

My wife always gets a kick out of the fake hugs after rounds.  Especially with some of the caddies.  

 

Fist bumps would be better than the fakeness of the hugs.

The stand-off hugs reduce the risk of being stabbed in the back.

... Never understood that as you just fix your hat head with the opposite hand. Duh. I see handful on Tour do it but most just extend that same sweaty hair hand to their opponent. One silver lining from covid is fist bumps have replaced handshakes as acceptable end of round behavior.
