Skimmed through the video for numbers since I am at work.  Will digest it later today and see what his thoughts were.  But, the numbers stand out for me with the Red.  Very interesting to see it be the lower launching lower spinning option.  Also the fastest ball speed.  SS seemed to be pretty consistent between them all.  So, he seemed to just be getting a better strike with it.  And now I am even more interested in testing it in the driver.

Did they have smash numbers?

It is super interesting for sure. Interesting that there’s not much between the red and black for him and wondering if he was getting better strikes on average from the red, especially with the ball speed deviation in the black. Definitely something to think about in a fitting.

They did.  I would have to go back to the video to get them.  I want to say he was pretty consistently in the 111 swing speed range with all 3 of them.

Here is the club #'s and strike points.  So, up a little bit on the black and red.  I am finding it difficult to talk myself out of ordering the red at the first chance I get.

Watched the vid and Ian just felt like he was getting abit of extra kick from the red hence the higher ball speed and easier for him to turn over, blue in the middle and black being almost fade bias with the lack of kick, selfishly really wish they still had Matty with them to test the black as someone with similar clubhead speeds to him albeit standing on the 'correct' side of the ball 😜

The TR stuff so far has been great for me.  It makes sense that the TR Red would add a little speed with the softer tip section but that doesn't always translate into the longest setup.  I've been down that road chasing numbers and when I got everything on the course the Black was longer for me in my previous setup.

I'm interested in trying the Black TR 5X to see if I can gain some speed but still have stability in a light weight.

I was thinking the same thing.  Currently gaming the Black 6X.

The red is also interesting.  One thing I noticed was that a 1" tipped Blue TR on driver actually launched lower for me than a 1/2" tipped Black.  Now that I'm in a flatter trajectory driver head, I'm actually quite interested in trying red tipped a bit more.

what black TR will compare to the Blue TR 7TX I currently have in the bag. Love the shaft but launch and spin just a tad to high for my window. @Fujikura Golf

Was thinking the same thing. Played a tensei 1k 50tx at 46” since it came out and has been a bomber but could use more stability on course for sure. Lower torque in this could be the ticket.

I am pretty sure he was hitting TSi3.

I went back and that is what I thought too. I don't think Titleist would let anyone take anything outside of their TPI at Oceanside.

The Blue TR fits between the the Black and Blue.  So the Blue TR will fly slightly lower then the Blue.  I have tried it.

Not necessarily the case.

it’s player dependent, but in theory the raw shaft design fits your assessment.

I hit Ventus black higher than the blue for example

I’m thinking of this as well, although I play a black 6X now and this in the 5X does seem a bit active…maybe the solution is a TR 5X tipped a little…either way going to be fun to test

Have had a chance to hit the Black 6xTR and compared it to my Black 6X that I’ve been gaming since it was tour only. Fujikura tightened it up a bit and the increase in weight allows me to feel the head better. Ball flight is similar but dispersion is better with TR. Immediately in the bag.

I’ll be honest, I was skeptical that they could improve upon the Ventus Black, but somehow they have. It’s like a 2.0 version.

Great to hear! Have one coming in the next few days to test against a recent trial of the TR Blue 6TX. It has been fantastic, feel is awesome, but I still find it turning over too often on the course. Much better than the TR blue 6x I had but hoping the TR black just helps eliminate that miss.

On paper the TR blue 6tx and black 6x are similar so will be interesting to compare.

Fitter let me know they had the new TR shafts in this week in anticipation of the release date. I was able to go in today to hit the Black TR 7X and 8X, compared them to a Black 7X, Blue TR 7X, and Blue 7X. Tested in a Cobra F9 10.5 driver at 45.5, a Rogue Max 3W at Std length, and a 300 Mini Driver at 0.5" short.

Notes about myself: Driver swing speed 114 avg, 3W swing speed 111 avg. prefer D1 swingweight. 3:1 tempo with slight pause and smooth transition with lots of lag. Normal shot shape is a fade with a pull miss when I close the face too much.

A Black 7X feels boardy and stiff in my hands. Super stable, but low feel that makes it difficult to smooth my transition and time my release. A Blue 7X has that low mid kick that those who have played it are familiar with. The Blue TR 7X has an interesting double kick feel to me that I simply cannot get along with and messes my timing up a lot. In my hands, Black TR 7X and 8X feel like if you took a Blue, went up a flex in the mid kick, and tightened up the handle torque wise even more. It didn't make the handle feel stiffer, but just so much more stable. In the end it was a nice slight kick in the mid with immense stability in the tip and handle but more feel in the handle. It was a one of a kind profile that I immediately fell in love with. Delivery wise, it dropped my launch to the point where it felt best teeing up slightly higher (from equator slightly below top of club head to even) vs my gamer Raijin 2.0.

It is definitely lower launch and spin than the regular Black, but with a decent amount more feel. If you need that, Fujikura has definitely delivered a winner with this one. I loved the feel and what it did to my spin and launch, but I exhausted my yearly equipment budget and have decided I am forgoing equipment changes for the rest of the year as I work on my swing mechanics. It will be at the top of my list for next year's driver fitting.
