Fitter let me know they had the new TR shafts in this week in anticipation of the release date. I was able to go in today to hit the Black TR 7X and 8X, compared them to a Black 7X, Blue TR 7X, and Blue 7X. Tested in a Cobra F9 10.5 driver at 45.5, a Rogue Max 3W at Std length, and a 300 Mini Driver at 0.5" short.

Notes about myself: Driver swing speed 114 avg, 3W swing speed 111 avg. prefer D1 swingweight. 3:1 tempo with slight pause and smooth transition with lots of lag. Normal shot shape is a fade with a pull miss when I close the face too much.

A Black 7X feels boardy and stiff in my hands. Super stable, but low feel that makes it difficult to smooth my transition and time my release. A Blue 7X has that low mid kick that those who have played it are familiar with. The Blue TR 7X has an interesting double kick feel to me that I simply cannot get along with and messes my timing up a lot. In my hands, Black TR 7X and 8X feel like if you took a Blue, went up a flex in the mid kick, and tightened up the handle torque wise even more. It didn't make the handle feel stiffer, but just so much more stable. In the end it was a nice slight kick in the mid with immense stability in the tip and handle but more feel in the handle. It was a one of a kind profile that I immediately fell in love with. Delivery wise, it dropped my launch to the point where it felt best teeing up slightly higher (from equator slightly below top of club head to even) vs my gamer Raijin 2.0.

It is definitely lower launch and spin than the regular Black, but with a decent amount more feel. If you need that, Fujikura has definitely delivered a winner with this one. I loved the feel and what it did to my spin and launch, but I exhausted my yearly equipment budget and have decided I am forgoing equipment changes for the rest of the year as I work on my swing mechanics. It will be at the top of my list for next year's driver fitting.

Good to hear. I love my black 6x but like all always like trying newer things. Might have to test drive after swing work for form and speed as well  this off-season

Tried my Black TR 6x on the range today.  Really like the feel and was very happy with the ball flight.  Can't wait to get on the course with it.

I would like to know too if any of the OEM's will be offering these...

I bet they would as an upgrade shaft, you might get a watered down version as a stock shaft offering. Non-Velocore edition.

Just played with my Ventus TR Black 6x for the first time, replaced my Ventus Black 6TX. All I can say is that this is the perfect combination for me. The VB 6TX was a great shaft but I always felt like I had to go 110% at it, especially later in the round when I got tired.

The TR Black is still an extremely anti-hook shaft but to me it has a bit more feel than the VB. It was also a little easier for me to turn over but the flight is still very piercing.

This is good information since my 6TX just snapped at the tip and I need a replacement!

great info. I can kind of turn over my 6x now so maybe try the TR or a 6TX

So the slight feel in vblack where you lose the feel of the head is gone in vblack tr?

Yeah. The TR has a more smooth feeling to it over the OG but still tight feeling.

I like the 6tx and its going to be a backup incase something breaks like my 6x did. I get slightly better numbers out of the TR which is a plus but not why I went with it. I like the OG stout feeling as I game in in my 3 wood in a 8x but the TR has it…whatever it is. Ha

Your situation sounds similar to mine. I play a VB 6TX tipped 1" and can have the same feelings late in a round. Was your 6TX tipped? Did you tip the VB TR 6x?

Nope both not tipped, I did cut the TR so that is around a 45" playing length however.

I would say so, there were times with the VB TX where the handle was so stiff that I couldn't really tell where the club, but with the TR it provides a little more feel so I can feel where the club is and it stays with me the entire time.

Few numbers from the Black TR 7x with a TSR3 8*. Was just a few shots with no warmup or anything so don’t judge lol . But average of 324 The feel is beyond better then the OG. I didn’t think the TR blue would be best but the black is just as straight and spins a lot better.

I had a black 6x tipped 1 inch, have a TR 6x black tipped 1/2 inch and an untipped black 6tx and the TR gives me slightly better numbers over the 6tx but I give the OG black 6tx the nod right now. The TR is so good and I have to emphasize that but I just haven’t consistently found my groove with it yet on the course, range it’s point and shoot but course it isn’t. The black 6tx is for me and gives me the exact same feel in my 3 wood which is a 8x and a 10tx in my 3 iron. My carry is up with the 6tx and TR and with more time I think the TR will be the gamer in the future and possibly if a 6tx tipped 1/2 could be a contender. 3C9C02AF-6B21-4765-B575-C709F75D8EDB.png.2eb3b11c2f1ed0f4c12bfde3757a995d.pngACB3BAC9-D713-42E9-B618-D2C28D946B5E.png.c7cf387a6efb91e5f62ef03ba804a9f3.png

Something really wrong with those 6x numbers...faster ball.speed and lower spin and it carried 7 and 11 yards less?  What did you use to capture numbers?

Mevo+ pro but what you’re not paying attention to is the height. The 6x is a height of 93ft where the other 2 are 110&119

But launch and spin are all very, very close. Height comes from launch, spin, and ballspeed.

You have big time misreads going on there. 5mph faster with 6x,same launch and spin but less carry?  Nah

No, not really. The sample size with the 6x is more than I hit with the other 2 while not going through and taking out some of the “bad” shots

Can anyone confirm the measurements on a raw uncut shaft from the tip to the E in velocore in a TR. I assume it’s the same as the OG. Just want to confirm
