I love JT's 5 wood, always have. Man I wish I could pick one up in the UK but that head doesnt exist in the 5 wood here.

 

Question - how heavy did JT's 5 wood feel in your hands? Iv always thought it probably feels heavier, given the shaft weight and that he plays the 5 wood at a normal length and not shorter..

I have never seen or heard of one here in the UK, looked everywhere. Loads in the 15 degree but never seen the Fd head in 18 degree here.

915FD 18* was a MOTO product, (made only to order) It may have been North America only and they were only done as custom orders and would never have been in a golf shop. So unless you find one second hand they are pretty much impossible to come by. JT seems to have a bunch of them as the serial are all different if you go back through his WITB posts so I am guessing when it was discontinued they save all the remaining heads for him and other tour players.

Thats really good to know and makes total sense, will explain why I never see any around! Yeah I didnt take notice of the serial numbers (great spot) but seen as JT is my favourite player I tend to spot if the head looks fresh and I notice his 5 wood head looks fresh every so often... I guess he practices with it a lot and probably gets marked up on the face with the sandy dirt he must practice on? I have never been to Florida so I might be talking nonsense... either that or he just likes a fresh looking head!

I have spent a bunch of time in Florida and you are correct most of the ranges are pretty sandy, not as brutal as the hard dessert in Arizona but yes unless you are cleaning your face off after each shot the clubs can wear.

The 18 was a MOTO with Titleist.

I remember a witb where he tipped the BF 1.5 in driver. Don't remember seeing one with the ZF tipping. Really wish we could get that info more often from the tour truck people. Not sure if people want it to be a secret or if nobody is asking about it.
