^^^This^^^ If you buy anything less than a club glove you are most likely going to buy so many over the years that by the time you finally get one you will wonder why you didn't just get one from the beginning and be done with it.  I am learning this the hard way as I finally bought one after the last straw of buying a brand new non club glove bag and it making it through one round trip before it looked like it had been dragged through a gravel parking lot.  I have never had a golf travel bag last me more than two years so I finally gave in to getting a club glove.  Luckily I have never had a club broken in transit. Yes the Club Glove bags are expensive but I have spent much more than the cost of one in buying cheaper ones that didn't last. When your bag is out of sight and being processed through an airport there is no care being taken in handling it.  I was standing at the place where my bag was being dropped off  a few months ago and the guy didn't realize that he was handling my bag and he opened the door and just threw my bag.  He could have easily just set it on the belt but why not just practice throwing it I guess.  When he saw me going for the bag he quickly shut the door because knew I was about to say something to him.  A hard case doesn't stand a chance either for that same reason that your bag is going to be thrown around at some point and the hinges will fail so I finally learned my lesson to just pay the money and get a bag that will last or else!
