Love the look of the Eye2 59 degree wedge.  Something about having a prime number loft really stirs my mathematical loins.  Great pics!

Great versatile wedge - don't know if I'd give up hyper pearl finish though

Oh man. I love my Eye2 59 but...

Do tell.  The "But" at the conclusion of your post has piqued my interest.  Are you saying it's amazing "but" this looks even better?  I need someone I don't know on an internet forum to speak glowingly of a club I like to push me over the line to purchase it.  Thank you!

It's my fav wedge I've had in a long time. does everything well. 8 degrees of bounce so doesn't dig outside of soft, soft fairway. "eye 2 lite" shape, so not as jarring as the traditional eye 2 shape. some heel/trailing edge relief to open it up. It's a huge winner for me, and I combine with a 54* 2.0 stealth with 12* and I'm golden! love the stock shaft too.

Thanks! I will say the glide Forged Pro has a much smaller profile then the majority of wedges out there. I think it’s one of those things when you see it in real life you either love it or it’s not for you at all. It’s not like a standard vokey S Grind that sort of appeals to everyone.

A new direction for Ping. Still unsure about the shapes though.

They did raw wedges ten or twelve years back with the Tour S Rustiques.

The wedges weren't great, but the finish looked nice once it rusted up. I always lamented the fact that the Eye 2 XG and Gorge models weren't available in the same finish.

The "But" was in reference to a raw version.

Someone else summed up the EyeToe quite well. I absolutely love it.

I get ppl love raw wedges but this just seems silly, no hydropearl finish, even though every review I’ve seen showed it produced phenomenal results, including my own personal experience.  Give up a dramatic performance advantage for a cooler looking product, only on WRX.

I don't see any real advantage to raw in Ping because the plated wedges have the hydropearl finish which gives you more spin in the wet.

Having said that, I do have a 50, 55 (with trailing edge relief), and 59 in the Eye2 w Half Moon Grind (heel and toe relief).

If you like a compact wedge that spins well, this is it.

Wonder if they still have the hydrophobic properties. If so that’s a win for them.

If it was hydrophobic, it couldn't oxidise.

It's interesting you note these in the photo; they didn't make the specs on the website. 59 or 62. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
