Help Finalizing Launch Monitor Selection

Hey Everyone - I've been trying to finalize my choice in launch monitors for several weeks now, and I think I've made the right choice for what exactly I'm looking for, but would really appreciate some input from you guys even if (or especially if) I need to switch directions/consider a different launch monitor or even go back to the drawing board and do more research.

My main interest is club data (swing path and face angle being most important at present - I mention these two because monitors that have these features seem to have most other club/ball related data points I'm interested in at present or think may be valuable for my improvement later on).

I'm not really worried about the device's capacity or compatibility as a "golf simulator" as I don't really intend to use it for that function. I may even end up using for the fun of it, but this isn't driving the decision at all.

Indoor/outdoor - I have the option of using either indoor or outdoor and live where I can be outdoors all year around so this is likewise not really make or break. If I can get a more accurate monitor or one with additional data features I'd happily use indoors or outdoors as required.

Price - negotiable honestly, not looking into $10,000+ territory, and am looking around the $2500-3000 range at present but if I should just bite the bullet and jump into the $6k-7k range to get what I am after I would probably do it if I would end up happier with my purchase in the long run.

I was originally looking at just getting the Garmin Approach R10 but the data I am after seems to be inconsistent enough (from my research at least) that I think ultimately I may be disappointed. I think it is an amazing unit for the price, I just honestly don't think I'm as good as some of the other owners/reviewers who are able to discern inconsistencies in the readings (and ultimately would not want to make changes to my game if I was potentially using the wrong data).

I'm thinking the Mevo+ with added Pro package may be the best fit overall unless I have overlooked something. Seems to be reasonably accurate, has the data measurements I am after and within a price range I can handle. Jumping up to the BLP was a consideration for a brief second but I did not care for the yearly subscription fee to get the data I was after (might as well spend the flat fee for the GC3).

I'm still open to the R10 but am pretty certain the Mevo+ with Pro package checks all the boxes I am after. Any input is very much appreciated, I am certain I have overlooked something so please hit me with any suggestions/thoughts or comments on other things I may want to consider before pulling the trigger.

Thanks!!!

In a very similar boat as you, but I'm limited space wise and indoor use is my end goal. Definitely take a look at the SkyTrak. What parameters are you looking for? At the end of the day, most radar based monitors are only so accurate in regard to both ball and club info. Just a thought.

I'm looking primarily at club face and swing path data, I feel like most launch monitors that have these two have most everything else I would be interested in so a monitor with reasonable accuracy in those parameters is ideal

I recently picked up a Mevo plus with pro package.  Only use indoors and my space is pretty ideal, met space requirements and no intereference issues.  I have been really impressed and have used it to improve my swing, pretty dramatically.  I believe the foresight to be more accurate, but the Mevo plus is providing what I need and has met/exceeded my expectations.

Thanks for the response! Any negatives or things that only became apparent after you had used the mevo plus (i.e things that you might not be able to get from a review/article/video about it)?

Do you feel like the measurements are reasonably accurate? I'm not looking for accuracy within 0.1 degrees or anything like that, but would be concerned about a device that had enough variance that it told me my club face was open when in fact it was closed or my swing path was out to in when in fact it was in to out. Something of that nature which could cause me to make the wrong kind of adjustments.

    • In-hand photos of 2023 TaylorMade Stealth 2 Plus, Stealth 2, Stealth 2 HD drivers + fairways woods
Check out our front page launch stories here and here.

What you need to know: For the first time, carbon is the most prevalent material by volume in a TaylorMade driver, and more carbon equals better performance, says the company. Last year, TaylorMade debuted a 60X Carbon Twist Face. With TaylorMade Stealth 2, engineers are bringing carbon to more of the golf club — and unveiling a new-and-improved Carbon Twist Face in the process. Stealth 2 Plus (low spin, most workable) Stealth 2, and Stealth 2 HD (draw bias, high launch, most forgiving) drivers make up the Stealth 2 family.

What you need to know: Breakthrough movable weight technologies and versatile designs are the hallmarks of the 2023 TaylorMade Stealth 2 fairway woods. Stealth 2 Plus is branded as “three fairway woods in one” owing to the unique performance characteristics afforded by the 50-gram sole weight. Stealth 2 features a slightly lower profile 3D carbon crown than Stealth. This moves CG down and away from the toe with more weight in the rear of the club for higher launch and MOI. Ultra-high MOI Stealth 2 HD features an oversized 200cc head and low-profile sole, creating an easy-to-hit, draw-biased club.
