Dude looks like he downed about four cups of coffee followed by a few lines before heading to the course. I would actually enjoy watching Keegan over that nonsense. I literally had to turn the channel.

 

Oh and look for more of it soon on a course near you as I am sure enough people saw it and his score so they will start thinking its a solid preshot.

Like someone named Robert Tyre Jones Jr.? How times have changed. Hagestad is sneered at but Jones was universally loved. Seems like a strange reason to disliked someone because they were born into a well-to-do lifestyle & have the time & resources to fully develop a golf talent. He's still putting in the work, isn't he? Wonder if we feel the same way about Trip Kuehne?

 

Having said that, I picture Hagestad as Spaulding Smails when he was a teen...

Watch the quarter finals highlights this morning. Not one player looked anything out the ordinary. Some very loose shots and no stand out swings. And correct me if I am wrong but  Hagestad looks suspiciously close to anchoring.

I've been watching every day, and enjoying the play, BUT.....some of them are S L O W !  Haven't picked a favorite yet, probably will today.

Yeah really, what's with the hate and jealousy.  So the guy got super lucky in life and probably would admit to it, we would all be doing the exact same thing if we had the chance.  

Bennett is slow, but his driver is fun to watch, absolutely rips at it.  Menante plays fast, be interesting to see if Bennett's slow play affects him at all.  

Wish Sargent would have made it longer, swing is pure, has generational type talent.

I watched earlier for just a few moments. The course looked very wet. Did they say anything about the rules? We know the USGA is not a fan of LCP. But mud balls are a nightmare as well. Did they say anything?

The big issue with Hagestad isn't so much the am, but the mid-am.  Guys who are supposed to have jobs and play golf at the same time, yet these guys have enough time/money to travel and play in all of these events, on top of putting in the work.  It is made to seem like he is an average Joe either working 9-5, or a mechanic working in a garage, and oh, on the side plays a little golf.  There is a reason the mid-am is referred to as the Reinstatement Invitational.  Publinks went away because it became a joke(CC guys listed themselves as members at resort courses to bypass the rules.)  Mid-am is risking reaching the same point.

 

Is it fair he takes the brunt of it?  Maybe not, but, and I haven't researched this so I could be wrong, but I also haven't seen him come out and say "I'm lucky I work for my dad and get all the time I want to work on my game."  Be honest there, and maybe it's different, but if he's going to play along with the "regular working Joe" narrative, then... tough.

He averages about 10 regrips a shot, and then he has the balls to have a 10 minute conversation with his caddie while Menante is forced to wait over his ball in the fescue on 18. 
 

Slow playing your opponent intentionally is not in the spirit of the game of golf. Bennett should be penalized but the USGA won’t ever do anything about it. 
 

I’m just thrilled that Ben Carr is in the finals and is going to the Masters. Hopefully he can give Bennett a good match tomorrow and take him down.

I enjoyed the Women's Am, a lot of the Men's Am, but I don't know that I can watch the final.  Bennett is probably a nice kid, but MY GOD.

Stewart Hagestad must have a trust fund or something.  The Mid-Am champ from a year ago, at 31 years old, with the broomstick putter, bows out today in the quarter finals.

 

I'm rooting for Ben Carr from Georgia Southern.  He's got PGA Tour legend Will Wilcox on the bag, and he's hanging in there.

No doubt about Bennett. I had to turn it off today after watching him grip/waggle 5 - 10 times on every shot and take over a minute to hit a shot. That would drive me absolutely nuts having to deal with that in a round of golf. That guy makes Ben Crane look fast.
