Sawgrass/Streamsong/BayHill

Planning a golf trip in/out of Orlando with 4 full days of golf.  Golf and dinner's is the plan.

Was thinking two days at Sawgrass with 1 at the stadium course and the other at Dye's valley.

Not sure where to golf the other two days.  Streamsong requires to stay at the resort that time of year and doesn't appear to be much else to do in the area.  Bay Hill also requires a stay but are at least in Orlando.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Streamsong is pretty much an all-in experience, you have to stay on property and it is totally isolated. Fortunately plenty of golf there to keep you busy.

I definitely wouldn't try and do Streamsong and Sawgrass in the same trip they are completely opposite directions from Orlando and a 4.5 hour drive apart

Highly recommend Mission Inn, about 30-45 min north of Orlando. The El campeon course is my favorite sleeper course in Florida and one of the best values anywhere imo. Las Colinas isn’t bad either but is more of an add on round.

Southern Dunes south of Orlando is also really good if you can get over the housing that surrounds the course.

Does Bay Hill not still require a stay on property as well?

- What time of year are you thinking - I would have to believe that the time of year would dictate some the condition/experience for some of the bigger named (e.g. Tour Stops) courses.

- Why not just stay in Jacksonville/St Aug area if you are already planning to be in that area anyway?

Trip to and from ponte vedra from Orlando  is going to eat up a half day each way.

Yes it requires a stay.  We fly in and out of Orlando, as it's the easiest flight from where we are coming from.

You have a couple options between Orlando and Jacksonville:

Hammock Dunes in Palm Coast. Two 18s but not on the same property.

LPGA International. 36 holes on the same property.

i forget about LPGA international since i havent been back to the daytona area in a long time.... i remember playing it in 2003 and falling in love with it for the shot variety and overall playability with challenge

Yes thanks.  we decided to play bay hill the second day and then drive up after to play the valley and stadium course at sawgrass the next two days.

Just need to figure out a course in Orlando to play on the first day now.

I'd play Grande Cypress Links course your first day. It's very close proximity to Bay Hill and an interesting, fun  course.

If you can get on Conservatory (part of the Hammock Beach Resort) in Palm Coast....one of the most underrated courses.  Absolutely beautiful and challenging.  I love playing there!
