Hilton Head in October

Here in Sea Pines you have Heron Point (Dye) and Atlantic Dunes (Love III).  This is in addition to Harbor Town.

From where you are staying it’s a 10 minute ride (plus minus 5 depending on the day and time).

Palmetto Dunes has nice courses but in my opinion you can’t beat the condition on the Sea Pines property.  Heron and Atlantic are $$$ and Harbor Town is $$$$

From where you are staying in PD you could head down to Hilton Head Plantation and play 4 different courses, all usually in decent to very good condition.  CC of Hilton Head and Oyster Reef are the 2 best then Dolphin Head and Bear Creek.  Across the street from HHP is Indigo Run and Golden Bear is another good golf course.  The Sea Pines courses are usually in the best condition but they are going to cost you a few bucks.  If you have time to go off-island, Hilton Head National is usually in great shape.  It's not a bad drive at all from PD (it's just off the island).

T-MAC, let's tee it up when/if you are down here.  Just moved here 5 weeks ago.

CC of Hilton Head is now fully private - no more daily fees.

Oyster is the cream of the crop in Hilton Head Plantation.  Bear Creek would be next.  Dolphin Head is a good step down from these two - it's not a bad layout it's just not the quality golf of the others in my opinion.

National is fantastic.  Getting a lot of play but still great.  Old South is down the street from National (just off island) and also a gem.

Hmmmm...........I just played CC of HH a few weeks ago.  I played with a buddy who is a Pro in the area so maybe that's why we got on.  It's been semi-private for years but I had not heard it went to being fully private.  When I play with my buddy, we get comped and I just toss the cart guy 20.00 bucks at the end of the day.
Anyway, I agree that Oyster Reef is probably the best course in HHP (except for CC of HH).  Dolphin Head started going down hill a bit when Brown Golf Mgt took them over.  Bear creek used to have some of the nicest greens in the area but they have also gone down a bit in conditioning over the past couple years.  Still good tracks though.  At one time, they were both private clubs.
I've been here pretty much full time for many years now bud.  I've played every course in the area, both public and private, so I know them all pretty well.
Sure, we can tee it up sometime!  I'm a contractor and I'm pretty busy right now but I usually try to slow things down in the winter.  We'll keep in touch.
