Wooohoo!  Daytrip!!! (yup, day trip, 500 kms and all one way!)

Braver man than I lol.  I think it's gonna be packed, like PGA tour levels.  No way am I gonna try to follow Brooke this week lol but I think it will generally be pretty packed  trying to follow anyone else.  I can drive down on the weekend or early Sunday morning and be there before the leaders tee off if it doesn't look as bad as I think.

the one I am following will not be packed... (or at least as far as I am concerned - hopefully no "superstars" paired with her too).  😁

Excited for a string of consecutive tournaments again!  So many long breaks this season...kills all momentum IMHO.

For the LPGA yes, but Nelly, Jess, Ally Lee etc others played on the LET last week and Lydia, So Yeon, Hyo Joo etc were playing in Indonesia. But I agree, it's been a while since we had an event where all the top players are committed.

Jenny Shin skipping Canada to play in KLPGA major along with Inky Kim. I'm still boycotting though.

Any Canadians to keep an eye on besides Brooke?

I only know of Monet Chun and Leblanc.

Maddie Szeryk has been quiet this year too.

No world beaters, some of the youngins could develop into no doubt LPGA players still too early to say.  But like the 3 mentioned outside Brooke, the next wave (college) will fight tooth and nail to keep/get their cards

CONTEST! CONTEST! CONTEST!

14-year-old amateur Gianna Clemente just Monday-qualified for this tournament. Interesting tidbit: I taught dance at a northeastern Ohio studio years ago and one of our (excellent) students is now mother to Gianna. Which one of these lovelies is Gianna's mom? Let's just say the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

The girl/lady in the middle = Gianna Clemente's mom?

Wonder what routing they are going to do for this. They have 27 holes to use so they might be able to set something up thats pretty interesting, but Its probably easier to just do the north-south layout and have the west as a pretty significant practice facility for the ladies.

Played here a few times, decent course, still a meh course for a Canadian Open, at least it isnt Glen Abbey. Reminds me of Firestone where a lot of the holes can feel the same. North 9 at least has some water but it doesnt really come into play except for one hole I think its the 7th in the North-South configuration, also a bunch of OB right on the south side since it borders hunt club road, decent LCBO near by with a good selection of scotch and champagne where Ive done a fair amount of chirstmas shopping. I dunno, its made the top 50 or so courses in Canada list pretty regularly.

Layout for N-S:

South-West as is.  North is not part of it.  They actually will use North 1 to do contest stuff and North 9 as a practice area.

@Supermilo My guess ... you'll be following Bianca P?
(as Shibuno doesn't appear to be in the CPWO Entry List?)

I'll follow Bianca for a bit.  My daughter played in her group at the US Open qualifier in Fort Myers this year.  She said Bianca was ridiculously long considering that she is not very big.

Return of a Classic – the 2022 CP Women’s Open

The Canadian Women's Open championship finally returns after a 2-year hiatus

"There is no such thing as a “home game” in individual sports like golf, but this week at the Ottawa Hunt & Golf Club, will undoubtedly be the closest thing to a home game in golf. Henderson’s hometown of Smith Falls is less than 60 minutes away from Ottawa, and she is sure to have plenty of support in the gallery."

Good interview, however this confirms what I thought all along but was told differently by a poster on this forum.

The host pronounces Pagdanganan as Pog Dahn Gone Ahn. A poster hear swore up and down it was Pag-Da-Ing-Anan(like Kofi). Being the clip is from a show done for TV in the Philippines, I am going to trust my original thought.

@Supermilo

... so you won't be following the "Brooke Brigade" teeing-off at 1:04pm alongside Lydia Ko and J.Kupcho?

jk!

I'm guessing you'll be following this 1:59pm group!

    • In-hand photos of 2023 TaylorMade Stealth 2 Plus, Stealth 2, Stealth 2 HD drivers + fairways woods
      Check out our front page launch stories here and here.

      What you need to know: For the first time, carbon is the most prevalent material by volume in a TaylorMade driver, and more carbon equals better performance, says the company. Last year, TaylorMade debuted a 60X Carbon Twist Face. With TaylorMade Stealth 2, engineers are bringing carbon to more of the golf club — and unveiling a new-and-improved Carbon Twist Face in the process. Stealth 2 Plus (low spin, most workable) Stealth 2, and Stealth 2 HD (draw bias, high launch, most forgiving) drivers make up the Stealth 2 family.

      Stealth 2 HD

      What you need to know: Breakthrough movable weight technologies and versatile designs are the hallmarks of the 2023 TaylorMade Stealth 2 fairway woods. Stealth 2 Plus is branded as “three fairway woods in one” owing to the unique performance characteristics afforded by the 50-gram sole weight. Stealth 2 features a slightly lower profile 3D carbon crown than Stealth. This moves CG down and away from the toe with more weight in the rear of the club for higher launch and MOI. Ultra-high MOI Stealth 2 HD features an oversized 200cc head and low-profile sole, creating an easy-to-hit, draw-biased club.
