Shout out Tour Van

Recommended Posts

I've been searching for graphite shafts for awhile now. Previous tennis elbow surgery left side and looking at another this time the right elbow. Every time I thought I was ready to pull the trigger something made me stop.

Started messaging the Tour Van guys. Told them what I was looking for performance wise. They recommend the Fuji Pro 115i. This was on my radar but I didn't know much about them. They stated the QC was about as good as it gets and they've seen incredible performance out of them.  After a few back and forth I pulled the trigger. I decided to get new heads even though mine are new this year. I wanted them to be able to cherry pick heads to get desired SW. D3.

I gave them one last huge task when I order them. Ordered 8/20. Could I get them by Friday the 26th?? Well, they said no promise but if Fuji could get them the shafts they could do it.

Got word shafts would in Wednesday. Thursday at 1pm received a text. "Building now keep you updated.". At 330/4. "all done!". They built perfect at D3. I received them today at 2:30. That's just unbelievable great service. All without a phone call. All text.

Got out and played a quick 9. First they look sick. In a good way. Performance was really tight. Long time x100 and occasional PX user.

Even on slight mis hits or imperfect swings the dispersion was really good. Better than any previous steel I've played. Distance was similar to PX 6.5 ss for me. Which were about 1/2 club longer than X100 for me. On well hit shots they were very tight. Not much wind today but where there was I saw a strong flight.  No problem hitting high or low. I noticed not much curvature.  Which for me is good. I like a fairly straight ball flight for most shots.

If you need custom clubs give these guys a call. I wont go into pricing but I was more than satisfied with my final tally. Especially when you throw in how fast I got them. If you're thinking about graphite look at the Fuji Pro. After only 9 holes I can tell they are a really good shaft thatIMG_20220826_190221378_HDR.jpg.22c6e9fe1e3d2a5df321975629803d5c.jpg will hopefully make it so I can play more without reoccurring elbow issues. IMG_20220826_190310038_HDR.jpg.cf3cc8579fb35f788e7f8f87f76ed33c.jpg

I'll consider a name change!!

I wanted to move away from blades. The JPX sole didn't feel right to me for some reason. I didn't hit the 223. The Titleist sole felt great in a fitting on grass and they look like a blade at address.

Titleist player?? 🤔

I have put the exact same shafts in 2 different sets and got 2 different results. 1st set is a forged irons from New Level.  Which perform great and feel awesome. 2nd set is the i525 heads.  The feel was hard and firm.  I believe the type of head helps on feel.  Like the NL setup but the i525s feel is way to harsh feeling for me.  The shafts perform great in both heads. Very consistent flight and very controllable.

Interesting about the feel. Guess it makes sense. The t100 feel is really good. Spot on about the consistent flight. Even on mishits.
