TITLEIST 712u 2 iron

Hi, I’m new here, sorry if this is the wrong place or if this topic has been best to death already. I bought a 712u 2 iron in the internet, because I like to live dangerously, and there’s no serial number on it that I can see. The internet seems to say if it was part of a standard set only the 6 iron would be stamped. I don’t know if the 712u came in any standard set, or if there’s any other reason it would have no serial number. Or worst case, did I get scammed?  Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

it must have come with a custom order full set like 2-PW. All other single 2 iron have serial number.

I really doubt people are faking 2-irons. Not much of a market there. Agree that is just have come from a custom set.

The 712U was generally not available retail as a part of a full set unless custom ordered from titleist with other irons. This was part of the generation pre-“MOTO” (made only to order), so extremely limited options were available on the shelf, if at all. 
 

I have all 4 712U’s: the 2-5 (It is historically my favorite club).  I’ll check which of mine have serials. 
 

I agree with a previous poster- I doubt it was ever a popular enough club to fake.
