Fourteen Golf Players

Any Fourteen golf players here on WRX? Looks like I'm soon to be, I bought a pair of wedges RM-4's, a 54* & 58* In light black finish WOW!  They are Beautiful, Fit, finish and playability. All my golf buddies know I'm a stickler for wedges, and I've been on a search for the right wedge since giving up my SM8's early last season. After receiving the pair of wedges and playing a  couple rounds I decided to order a set of irons TC-7's If they are as nice as the wedges I will be very happy, but my question is anyone else have a set in the bag and how was making the adjustment because they are stronger lofted than my current irons. Looking for any feedback from anyone currently gaming the Fourteen irons, they look fantastic and very similar to my old set I played for approx. 15+ years back in the day, Founders club Forged Judge CB.

Thanks in advance

I gamed a set of TC-770 Forged irons a couple of seasons ago. Probably one of the best solid (non hollow) irons I played. I’m playing hollow/filled sets now due to declining swing speed otherwise I might’ve stuck with the 770’s.

I have the raw RM4 wedges and they are awesome. Did your irons come in yet? I'm interested in those as well...

Yes they did, they arrived Tuesday 9/20/22 BUT! the timing could not have been any worse for me. I have them listed in the BST Section because I have been playing & hitting my Callaway gamers pretty well lately, and I'm getting ready for the Senior Amateur Tour Finals next month in Hilton Head S.C.

Anyone interested in the Fourteen Golf Clubs I highly recommend looking into them, they are fantastic.

Playing TB-7 6-PW with Nippon Modus3 105 stiff and have a TB-5 5 iron.  The TB-5 spins a little more and flies higher which I like and blends very well.  Love, love these irons and played everything, literally.  I tried the hollow blade like irons from Cobra, Mizuno, Taylomade, but there was something missing. I'm getting older and was intrigued with the stronger lofts but also the beautiful look of the "theater blade".  Reminds me of an old hogan radial or director, but is very forgiving and long!  Gives me everything I want and can't stop looking at them.  Buttery soft feel with a touch of crispness.  My swing speed is around 84 with a 7 iron and have no problem getting them up in the air.

I'm looking at the TB-5 & the TB-7's & was wondering if I could get a little insight on these irons & how they as far feel, size, offset etc ...

I'm 71 & in very good shape but my swing has slowed down quite a bit over the years

I've always played players irons but I'm thinking of going with more of a players distance iron due to losing distance with my irons

I can't stand the look of a large game improvement iron but a little offset is OK along with a standard head size ...I'm not looking for shovels ..

Right now I'm hitting my 7 iron around 145 -150 & my HCP is 11-12

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Posted pics below.  They feel better than anything I've hit in a long time.  Very little offset and forgiving.  The TB-5 is ridiculously easy to hit and you do see a little bit of the back of the iron at address but that melts away after you hit it.  They are a full club longer than my srixons.  Much softer as well.

How does the head size of the TB-5 compare to the TB-7 ?

The TB-5 has a wider sole and larger and thinner area in the cavity.  Top line and offset are similar.  Looks like a larger version of the 7 which has a thicker cavity area and smaller sole.

They do come pretty light, D1.5, so I added some let tape.  I bought the 5 separately and with a Nippon 950 GH stiff shaft in it.  I might switch it to the Modus 3 105 stiff soft stepped 1x.  The 950 feels a little loose but still great.

Hi, these look really nice. What srixons you compared them with? Thanks

I am really intrigued by the TC-7 I hit.  I don't want to be the typical WRX trope, but I feel like I do actually hit slightly smaller headed irons better.  I was thinking a combo of TC-7 and TB-7 and weaken the lofts of the TB a bit.  I have played larger GI irons the last 2 seasons and my handicap hasn't budged, so its clearly I just suck.  I might as well play what I like the looks of at this point.
