If TCU wins, Duggan should win the Heisman.  His numbers are really good, but no one is a better competitor.  No one.

Sad for TCU to lose this way.  I would have gone QB sneak.  It takes too long for the handoff.  Allows penetration by the defense.

Was a BS spot on 3rd down.  He easily was 2 inches from scoring.

I would kick the FG and take my chances on D.  No one does that anymore, but that's just me.  Now on to who gets in 🤔 sounds like the pundits are saying TCU has done enough.....or is it anti-bama sentiment?

 

I don't expect it but what if Michigan loses?

 

And does Ohio St. move to 3 or does TCU stay there and Ohio St. slide in at 4🤔

Tough loss for TCU.  Might be OSU #3 and Alabama #4.....wow, what a weekend.

After a bumble headed asleep at the wheel play by the Tigers special teams that resulted in a TD for GA,  LSU on the next drive breaks one and answers!  

 

This one is going to be good.

Agree.  I had it conservatively less than a foot (8", 6", ?).  Would have only made a difference if it changes the play calls to QB sneak though.  The worst call was offensive pass interference.  Very ticky - tack.  It would have saved a good bit of time and Duggan exhaustion. Might have made a final drive for a FG possible.

Yep. But that particular ref was also the one who couldn’t see the ball on clear video for the spot.  Maybe glasses for Christmas?!😂

Nah. Still should be TCU 3 maybe osu 4. But I’d leave souther cal at 4.  Bama out. And buckeyes hopefully out.

TCU might fall to #4 and OSU to #3 but I can't see them leaving USC at #4.....Bama would lose their minds if that happened.

Stetson for Heisman!😎 Saw him play in HS, a huge talent. Give him a vote.(I know that this isn't how it's done, but vote anyway!) No one more deserving, imo.

I just can’t see osu going to #3.  If anything crazy like that happens it should be Bama to 3.  At least they lost last minute to good competition.    
 

put it this way. If you put Bama in you stage the best chance of a great championship game vs Georgia.  Otherwise you’re looking at a Georgia walk in.  
 

I love TCU fight. But.  Looking at their defensive front today showed me the weakness.  A Georgia offensive line will literally walk them down the field.   So I think my vote for the playoff is “ who stands a chance at beating Georgia “?   And rank the accordingly.  I think it’s Michigan , TCU , Bama.  But I don’t think I they’ll put Bama in due to politics.

And the reality is those probably are the four best teams.

No way a 2 loss Bama who didn’t play a conference championship should jump TCU.  TCU played the extra game and still has fewer losses.

The first is based in logic, namely that no team should be punished for playing a 13th game when the team it is being compared to has played only 12. If the committee thought TCU and USC were superior to Ohio State, Alabama and the others after 12 games, then it makes no sense to make them — and only them — play a 13th game and then penalize them for it.

 

Why should TCU (or USC) have an extra and undue burden of proof?

 

The honest answer that ESPN/Disney/ABC (who really totally control the CFB) are all about television ratings and money. Not what's right.

The schools also wanted the money from playing in a championship game, so there should be extra pressure on them to win an extra game, if you are going to call yourself 1 of the 4 best teams it shouldn’t be a big deal.  

 

I agree it’s about ratings and money, which is why I believe the committee should ask Vegas to chime in.  Alabama would probably be favored against every team except UGA, so they do have a case.  But with expansion to 12 coming in 2024, there isn’t much time left to discuss snubs.

It’s a shame “ THE “ got in and didn’t qualify to play the full season.   I’d much rather have seen southern cal get in.  And let’s be honest. I’m no southern cal fan.  They stole our initials for Pete’s sake !  But it’s the lesser of two evils.  Buckeyes.  Ewww!  😂

Agree. Expansion is going to open up alot of eyes and shut alot of mouths.      I wonder how many years it lasts though.  How many years in a row are they prepared to see an sec team win ?    The expansion is going to virtually  guarantee at least 3 in the playoff at all times.  It’s going to get hard to beat those odds.

Totally agree!  The teams that always say they should be in, now they will and will get boat raced will hopefully shut up and be happy.  Since the SEC has basically won most in the current format I don’t think people will care, as long as the check clears.  The only problem I see is when you get. 3 or 4 from 1 conference, there needs to be matchups that don’t ensure all make the final four.

I’m pretty sure Bama was favored in their 2 losses as well.   If Vegas has input then why even play the games?

im glad I was wrong. Just figured with the ESPN-SEC bias, they’d find a way to get Bama in.

As a Tennessee fan in an area where I'm surrounded by other Tennessee fans I've heard a lot of complaints about Bama being ranked above Tennessee after Tennessee beat them head-to-head. I think that argument is missing the forest for the trees.

 

Tennessee got absolutely HOUSED at South Carolina giving up more points than they've allowed to a conference opponent in ages. It should have been a comfortable Tennessee win but it wasn't even close going the other way. Totally shocking and embarrassing. 

 

I celebrated the win over Alabama just like everyone else but I sure wouldn't be excited to see Tennessee play them again right now. Hell, I'm not even confident we can beat Clemson in the Orange Bowl let alone be competitive in the playoff grid. 

 

It's time to chalk this up as a surprisingly good season and look toward the future.
