I’ve watched him for two years though and he was flat as a pancake until that last drive.  Throwing the ball at peoples feet etc all night. It was not nearly a good game for him.

I truly expected a blowout.   I’ll be pulling for tcu in the title game.  I will. But don’t expect this Georgia team to be the one that shows up.  I fear this will wake them up , and they’ll come out firing on all cylinders.  Kirby definitely will be preaching all week.

Good call!!

Tough to watch. Feel bad for TCU. Great year for them, but no match for Georgia.

Yep. Because of my kids high school basketball game I had to watch on a 2 hour delay.  Man.  Hard to imagine TCU coming out flatter than they did.  And as expected Kirby had coached up his dogs to a frenzy.   Especially on defense.    I told my wife they look like they’re on the old “raw meat and gunpowder”  diet.  😂

Per the OP, I have updated the thread to make it 2023 college fooball.

And wow, was very surprised to see this! I had heard the Colorado was only supposed to win like two games all year!

Neon Dieon!

With the way they can transfer these days and Deion’s pull, not surprising to me. And obviously he can coach. So there is that 😊

Those who said CU was supposed to only win two games all year were thinking of this based on last year's CU team.  There are only a handful of players who stuck it out and worked to make the 2023 CU team.  Most didn't want to put in the work and prove that their spot was valid.  The players Coach Prime brought in through the transfer portal were talented but most of all were driven to compete and prove they belong.  Add to that the 2023 incoming class and the 2023 CU football team is so much better than the CU teams in recent memory.  To compare the 2023 team to last year is simply ridiculous as it is not.

I suppose I bought into what Coach Prime was bringing in, what he was saying.  Part of that is because I am a CU fan and part of it is that Deion Sanders has always backed up what he says.  I am pleased that the ship has changed course, that it is being "Captained" by someone who wants to bring 1) character in the young men on the team and 2) wants to win.  CU is now in great hands with Coach Prime, his staff and the young men who make up the team.  Go Buffs!

It’s very interesting this transfer portal,  just starting to learn about it

I believe this article says that as of May, over 40 guys had transferred to CU for this season.

What I don’t fully understand is now is this all orchestrated? Is it Deion of his staff “pitching” and convincing kids from other schools to transfer based on them getting more playing opportunities, excitement around the program etc?

They seem to have done a great job. I guess we will see how the rest of the season goes but great to see prime time doing cool stuff

The transfer portal is like free agency.  I am no sure what the parameters are but anyone can enter the portal and transfer colleges.  There is no guarantee whether the athlete will be offered a place in another program.  There are two periods where the transfer portal is open.  CU had 60+ transfers and had the top transfer class for the entire portal, top by a large margin.  Coach Prime certainly took advantage of the portal and transformed CU back from the bottom of D1 football.  As to how well they perform this year remains to be seen.  However, it wouldn't surprise me that they start 3-0 as I believe Matt Rhule is overrated and not a great coach.  I honestly believe that CU will beat Nebraska and Colorado State.  Then they have Oregon away and USC at home followed by ASU away.  I believe they have a good shot at being 4-2 after this stretch.  However, there is a question regarding depth and this is the Achilies heel of CU.

Regardless of where he coaches, it's great to see a Brian Kelly coached team get clubbed like a baby seal. Well done FSU. FSU mud stomping LSU in the 2nd half was great. Kelly had no coaching answers. Pretty funny considering the way Kelly ran his mouth about the game earlier this week.

‘nuff said🤣😳😃

Sloppy game from both teams but the current score with 7 minutes to go is terrific!!!  Shedeur Sanders was close to 400 yards in the air!

Lol, keep that in perspective. Joel Klatt said that and he’s a former starting WB for the Buffs.  😁

They’re setting up for the biggest letdown in sports. When the crash comes, it will be epic!

Yes, I’m a very disgruntled Nebraska fan. But if our completely inept QB (9 turnovers in two games) doesn’t hand them the game, they are not so much the media darlings.  It may not have changed the W-L, but it would have maid much more obvious that they’ve beaten two poor teams.

MyGod, the swooning over Deion (call me Prime) is nauseating

I don’t think he’ll need to leave. Ewers might be the first pick in the draft next year and the spot will be all Arch’s.

Actually Arch is #3 on the depth chart behind Ewers and Maalik Murphy. It will be interesting to see who transfers and who doesn't.

Arch won’t remain #3, assuming the Manning genes carry for 3 generations. This is likely Ewers’ last year at UT.

Yeah, I don’t know anything about Maalik Murphy (although I’m guessing he’s probably also a high level recruit), but it’s going to be tough to keep Manning on the bench.

Although maybe Manning will do what Ewers did. Go somewhere for the freshman year to collect the big NIL money then bolt to wherever your true first choice was.

Yeah, that rant he went on last week, calling out Ed Werder of all people, was vintage Deion. Oregon and USC coming up on the schedule. We’ll know soon enough if CU is for real.

Although Oregon may not be as good as people thought. I don’t know how it ended, but they were trailing Texas Tech late in the game last night. TT lost to Wyoming the week before.

Definitely a possibility. Imagine Alabama having an awful year and being the hero that brings them back to the championship.

Thing is, Manning is making $3.7m this year. That’s $1.1m more than Caleb Williams. I don’t know how those NIL deals work, but I hope there’s some kind of commitment when you’re getting paid like that.

Yeah, I saw that. Oregon won by 8, but Tech was throwing into the end zone at the end.

Manning needs to add strength and fill out a bit. Murphy is bigger (6' 5") and a better athlete. Arch ascending to #1 on the depth chart is not a foregone conclusion next year. His last name is certainly paying the bills, but he wouldn't be the first (or last) 5 star recruit to not reach full potential.

I don’t know either. But with the portal it makes me think the NIL deals may be just one year deals. I had never heard actual dollar amounts. 3.7$, that’s crazy. Although I thought I read Kaitlyn Clark at Iowa is over $2million.

heck, why leave school early. I remember (way, way back), our goal was to get sponsored by one of the shoe companies so we’d get free shoes and sweatsuits.
