4. Why do you want to test Edel's SMS irons?  I've owned a custom fit Edel putter for about 10 years.  I've been impressed with David's philosophy to iron and wedge design.  Would love to see if they can make a difference for someone of my high handicap.

Interested in the feel and how the weighting system works on a set of irons.  I have a wedge with the tri weight system I enjoy and I’d be curious to try a set of irons

4. Why do you want to test Edel's SMS irons?  As with most members here, I love to tinker, try new things, and see if my strength as a ball striker can withstand a custom set of irons like these. And as someone who lives on a course, in sunny California, they will be tested DAILY! Thanks for the opportunity.

3. Current iron set: Mizuno JPX 921 Hot Metal irons, Aerotech Steelfiber i95 Stiff parallel tip shafts
4. Why do you want to test Edel's SMS irons?: Two big reasons. I tend to live on the toe side of the clubface, so I want to see how moving the weights can improve my ball flight for my toe misses. Second is, I play my irons shorter than stock. I don't love adding a ton of tip weights in the hosel via tip weights, especially in graphite shafts. Being able to have interchangeable weights gives the ability to add back some swingweight via those weights.

the idea of moving the weight around to adjust cog (cdim) is exactly what i have been looking for. I would love to adjust the weight around to see what happens to my toe side of center miss. The idea of putting a touch more weight there intrigues me.  Also edel as a brand has intrigued me for awhile (have their putter) and was actually fitted into the wedges at club champion but couldnt afford them. This would be a great opportunity to really see what edel can do as modern tech takes on a cult icon and recent major winner. Would shaft to optimize as well.

I first saw Edel when a friend of mine started using a custom putter he'd spent months working on with Edel. I was intrigued, and I've always wanted to know more. I love golf gear and I'm always tinkering and looking for something new. I'd love to give them a try and provide a comprehensive review. I have a writing background as a college journalism degree and am an experienced amateur still trying to qualify for important events, and believe I could speak to the GolfWRX base on playability, versatility, etc.

4. Would love to test them as I think they fit my players category while having a great look. Love seeing new technology and think a lot of the smaller "lesser known" manufacturers make a great product that I often cant find at a big box store. This is a chance to see something new and creative and give it a shot on the course rather than just looking at it on a rack or etc.
5. Absolutely! Im a golf club junkie and love the aspect of trying things and seeing what is out there. As much as I love playing, I equally love the aspect of the equipment and the technology that goes in to these things.

    • In-hand photos of 2023 TaylorMade Stealth 2 Plus, Stealth 2, Stealth 2 HD drivers + fairways woods
Check out our front page launch stories here and here.

What you need to know: For the first time, carbon is the most prevalent material by volume in a TaylorMade driver, and more carbon equals better performance, says the company. Last year, TaylorMade debuted a 60X Carbon Twist Face. With TaylorMade Stealth 2, engineers are bringing carbon to more of the golf club — and unveiling a new-and-improved Carbon Twist Face in the process. Stealth 2 Plus (low spin, most workable) Stealth 2, and Stealth 2 HD (draw bias, high launch, most forgiving) drivers make up the Stealth 2 family.

      Stealth 2

      Stealth 2 Plus

      Stealth 2 HD

What you need to know: Breakthrough movable weight technologies and versatile designs are the hallmarks of the 2023 TaylorMade Stealth 2 fairway woods. Stealth 2 Plus is branded as “three fairway woods in one” owing to the unique performance characteristics afforded by the 50-gram sole weight. Stealth 2 features a slightly lower profile 3D carbon crown than Stealth. This moves CG down and away from the toe with more weight in the rear of the club for higher launch and MOI. Ultra-high MOI Stealth 2 HD features an oversized 200cc head and low-profile sole, creating an easy-to-hit, draw-biased club.
