4 why do you want to test Edels Irons: I’m a college student at USD and I play on our golf team. I have a very hands on, in-depth experience testing clubs and shafts for different manufacturers, and feel like I would be able to give a quality detailed review of these irons and how they feel in comparison to competing club brands and also how the weights/weight placements impact performance and accuracy. These irons would be tested daily alongside my gamers and would be put through a good amount of use on the range and course.

I have read Edel's claim of greater ball speed and distance and would like to see if I get those gains.  But, mainly, I am very curious about the movable weight technology and the different feels and results from the 3 different positions.

I have a fair bit of lead tape to both add SW (can only do so much with tip weights) and ensure the added weight is balanced with any tip weights. Seems like the SMS Edel irons have that built in to an attractive form factor.

4. I’ve previously owned the SLS-01 with the Paderson single length shafts and loved the feel and had good results, just didn’t have enough swing speed to elevate those single length long irons. Still game the older wedge though. I also fight a slight fade that I’d like to play more of a draw with, and think these irons would really help fix it.

Having used the mizunos (best metal at retail prices) and Ping anser (best & most accurate clubmakers) i would like to know if there is anything better. I understand the diligent R&D that Edel persue in an effort to claim their products stand to testing. I would like to test that theory and claim.

4. Why do you want to test Edel's SMS irons?   Looking for better iron strike/consistency especially on my miss - the Toe Strike. One of the reasons the JPX-921 & Cobra set is that they allow my miss to be somewhat "acceptable" and yet provide distance on the shots. The moveable weight of the SMS looks to be a better solution and love to try this technology. Yeah, working on improving the swing but the miss still creeps up.

My coach is a fitter for Edel and I loved the concept from the beginning. I was my coach's guinea pig for him to learn how to fit the SMS wedges. I struggle with a slight toe strike and would love to see how the SMS Irons can help with that particular miss. I would also get them dialed in with my coach who has experience with SMS fitting system.

I would love to do a thorough review and let others know about these irons.
