Ping G430 Woods/Hybrids

Recommended Posts

I wanted to get a Ping driver but the sound and turbulators just made it impossible for me to buy one.  I hope they solve that issue, as I would love to buy one.

What is the difference in the looks of the lst that makes it dif than the last few versions? They have been very similar

The LST is going to be a bit of a performance difference vs the standard. The price will also be higher apparently

also heard today carbon/titanium in some capacity in the fairways.

Seems clear that instead of just a performance characteristic, they're using the LST as a differentiator in product and pricing.

Interesting, really. I'm not sure I want to go away from my 410 because the weight screws on the outside have been such a game changer. Some of you call it Animal-Style, but I have two 10gr on the outsides. Yes, could hot-melt it, but I can change these on demand. It made the head far more stable at impact, and I saw an immediate dispersion improvement. I'm shorter by a little bit, but far, far more consistent.

If I can't put the mass on the head where I want it, easily, why change?

I’ve done exactly the same with my 410 LST, just not as heavy, and I love it, I’m having a hard time finding a long term replacement for it.

Broke a head late summer last year and they sent me a 425 LST as a replacement, wasn’t even close to the same driver, more like a 400 Max LST, rather than a 410 LST replacement. Ended up trading it in for an 410 LST head. Much happier now, hoping the 430 LST will take its place 🤞🏼

The awful sound of ping drivers is a little overrated imo.

the 425 did sound more hollow than other models but I liked the sound of the 400/410 models.

It's really the "MAX" models IMO. Aluminum bat/can until you hotmelt them into oblivion. The LST and standard models have long sounded fairly solid.

This plus the supposed emphasis on acoustics is giving me 2017 Taylormade Geocoustic vibes.

I remember doing a Ping factory tour right after they released the original G400 drivers. The sound was SO much better than anything they had had ever put out and it was obvious from talking to them that they had made sound a real priority. Then they received rave reviews for the sound. Then it seems like they just said oh well and went back to normal on the 410 and 425 line. I hope they take a step back in the right direction with the 430.

That's great news! Is the MAX version driver going to have a proper sounds too or only the LST? For me, the G425 LST sounded worse then G425 Max.

    • In-hand photos of 2023 TaylorMade Stealth 2 Plus, Stealth 2, Stealth 2 HD drivers + fairways woods
Check out our front page launch stories here and here.

What you need to know: For the first time, carbon is the most prevalent material by volume in a TaylorMade driver, and more carbon equals better performance, says the company. Last year, TaylorMade debuted a 60X Carbon Twist Face. With TaylorMade Stealth 2, engineers are bringing carbon to more of the golf club — and unveiling a new-and-improved Carbon Twist Face in the process. Stealth 2 Plus (low spin, most workable) Stealth 2, and Stealth 2 HD (draw bias, high launch, most forgiving) drivers make up the Stealth 2 family.

      Stealth 2 HD

What you need to know: Breakthrough movable weight technologies and versatile designs are the hallmarks of the 2023 TaylorMade Stealth 2 fairway woods. Stealth 2 Plus is branded as “three fairway woods in one” owing to the unique performance characteristics afforded by the 50-gram sole weight. Stealth 2 features a slightly lower profile 3D carbon crown than Stealth. This moves CG down and away from the toe with more weight in the rear of the club for higher launch and MOI. Ultra-high MOI Stealth 2 HD features an oversized 200cc head and low-profile sole, creating an easy-to-hit, draw-biased club.
