Lol. Embarrassing, but true story. My old ball retriever was broken, and the end section with the cup/hook would come off from time to time. The section floated, so if it came off I could snag it with the rod. A few months ago I was the first one out on the course on a weekday morning, and had a few open holes behind me. I was fishing a ball out of the water when the end came off. Each time I tried to snag it, the thing just kept creeping a little further out into the pond. It looked like the pond was fairly shallow, so I did what any serious ball hawker would do. I took off my shoes and socks, and waded out into the water to fetch my ball retriever. Now, that's some serious dedication, and/or mental illness. 🙃
