Minneapolis Golf Club Thoughts?

Wondering if anyone is members at the Minneapolis Golf Club.  My friend is thinking about joining and wanted to see if we would.  Anything on the quality of conditions year round, the atmosphere of the club, difficulty with tee times and or thoughts on the club pro for lessons would be helpful.

I used to work in the golf business in Minnesota. Dan Simpson who is the head pro is one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet. Ryan Paulson who is their main teacher is also a great guy. Good player and a really good teacher. The range is small, but it's expected with the age of the club and being landlocked. Course was always in fantastic shape and I think you'd find a great balance of younger and older members along with pretty good facilities competitive with most clubs around the cities.

Thanks, what are the 3 best things about the club and what is one thing you would change?  It seems like a good solid club but trying to get honest member feedback.

I am a current member at MGC for last 9 years. 
 

- Great course

-Re-grass has been awesome.
-Great group of members, lots of young and new faces after some of the old guard left with the re grass project. 
-Short range is awesome…can really improve from 130yds and in.  
-good tee time availability. 

Where mgc lacks…

-Driving range is off mats

-Cannot hit driver at driving range for members that hit over 200ish yards. 
-Clubhouse food is constant roller coaster of good and bad. Finally have some new leaders that are improving on this front. 
- no real good simulator, this is changing in the near future.
