Great Annika Sorenstam Documentary

Just watched this great documentary on the GOAT Annika Sorenstam.

 

Her success has definitely contributed to the rise in Swedish women's golf as well. 🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪

 

Interesting discussion about her mind set, family and how she didn't like when Karrie Webb was at the top.

 

She probably deserves more recognition than she already has, but she has always been low key.

Thanks for posting this.  Annika is the reason I started playing golf in 1995 after her win at the US Open, and I’ve been a huge fan (of her and the LPGA) ever since.  It was a great look back at her amazing career and transformation from the shy young girl from Sweden.

I had no idea about her battle with shyness until I watched the documentary.  Finishing second in junior tournaments so she wouldn't have to give a speech at the trophy presentation!  I have so much admiration for Annika, and any person, who can recognize their weaknesses and seek to overcome them rather than accept them as limitations.  Her merits as a player are obvious, but her character and determination are what really stand out for me.

Gonna watch it now. Before I do, having been a tour addict since way before her coming into prominence, remembering her stages being a junior well, i have my presupposions. What always was strange to me was that a daughter to a businessman  was so shy. But otherwise she felt like a Bro girl, the guys from out there went to our (equivalence of) high school, and they only knew cars, booze, golf and soccer… now lets watch it and see all my presupposions blown to pieces.

Pretty much how I remembered it. Great documentary. A pity LPGA was not available on TV here in 2001…

And, a lot can be said about individuality and our home country. Could write a book about it.
