Mizuno 225 vs pxg 0311 P gen5

Anyone compare these two irons?

Not even a fair comparison....both are expensive and darn good. 3 different models of GEN 5's to choose from but forgiveness would have to go to PXG

Hum, why not a fair comparison?  Are gen5 p larger then 225?

You will need say which model of Gen 5’s as you mentioned the 225 Pro why them as PXG Gen 5 XP’s are more forgiving and feel just as nice but many will say much nicer as the same with distance

Title says 0311 P, not sure I like the stong lofts on the xp. Course it would be one less iron to order.

Yes I did fail to see that its the P model but the edge would still go to PXG as nobody makes clubs the way they do period. The 225's are bit more demanding but still a contender for the best Player Distance irons for 2022

Pro 225's are one of the easiest irons I have ever hit. They are GOOD. Selling my Gen 3's and my JPX 921 Hot Metal Pros because of them.

What type of distance change did you see from the Gen 3's to the Pro 225's? Were you playing the Gen 3 P's? Thanks.

Currently have the pro 225. Guess I shouldn't try the pxg gen 5 p or jpx 923?

If you already have the 225 Pro’s stick with them why would anyone even consider looking at other brands as they are some of the best as Mizuno makes great irons

Hey, I am a club ho. You should ALWAYS try new clubs. lol Just speaking from my experience, they are kicking my last 2 sets out.

Hey I understand as I'm the same way, I had the Gen4's XP's and now moved on to the PING i525's. I just wasn't interested in the GEN 5's as I'm sure they are nice.

I was playing a combo set of P's and T's. 5, 6, 7 were P. There is about 1 club difference for me. I am playing a different shaft though.

I'm hitting my 225s really good last few times out.

Both are absolutely awesome. If I remember correctly the 0311p was slightly longer heel to toe but thinner top line. 
 

distance for me was better with 0311P. 
 

I am playing 225 now and love them. Wish the 8 was more like 9/PW, but small complaint.

Been playing the pro 225's for 3 months now. Love the look, feel, and forgiveness they provide in a mid size package. Distance is good but I've been more impressed by the consistency I've experienced with them. I tend to "ho" a bit trying new irons but don't switch all that often. These unseated my apex cf19's which were firmly planted since their release. I'd love to give the PXG's a turn but I'm hitting the 225's so well I probably won't any time soon.

I’ve got CF19s and the thing I wouldn’t mind some improvement in is consistency.

Both great irons.

I played the PXG Gen 3 and loved the performance and feel.

Hated the larger offset from 7-5 iron.

If PXG would make a reduced offset Gen3 they would still be in the bag and they would sell a ton of them.

Just too GI in the long irons.

 

Tried the 225s and couldn’t be happier.

A bit shorter distance than the PXG but very consistant-no Flyers like the PXG occaisionally had. 225s feel look and play great.

225s over the Gen 3 all day for me, but if you can stand the offset; for the price, the Gen 3s are hard to beat.

Gen3 P irons are extremely consistent in distance and spin for center and slightly off center hits. I might hook a shot here or there, me not the club, but I know

how far it’s going.  There’s nothing else that can match them. Also great feel and higher spin than you would think.  As a 14 cap I have no problem with the Ps.
