Hey Guys,

i´m currently gaming the BB 6X in my driver.

I have the chance to get an 3wood with the TP 6X for very few money....but no chance of hitting it before.

could some of you which hit both shafts pls share your experiences?

And could i have problems because of the 60 gram version in the 3W? Is it possible to adjust the weight of the shaft with lead tape?

Thank you

I like the TP and play it in all woods right now - they call it an improved/stiffer DI. I played the XC previously in my driver before the TP and it also is supposed to be the improved BB. As far as the Tour AD line of shafts is concerned the BB/XC are their 'low launch' models and the TP is in the middle of the ranking. There is not much launch and spin difference between ALL models to be honest but the feel will for sure be different to each player due to materials placement.

With that said between the DI/TP and the XC/BB 'lines' I would say that the TP feels more lively and will have a noticeable load feel whereas the BB will not and will feel more linear. I dont think you'll have an issue with a 60g class of shaft in a 3 wood. Many people do this. It all depends on your personal preference. Some play 70g in driver and 80g in 3W, some play 50g in driver and 60g in 3W, and some play 70g in both - it all depends so there is no answer there.

I think i will give the 3w a run... it´s not expensive anyway

TP feels better than the BB for me.  I found it easier to turn over as well.  I would say that they are similar in launch and spin though.

ANYONE HIT THE UB?

Had it in the bag earlier this year.  Love the feel but I couldn't square the face.  Mid/low shaft that's more stable/anti left compared to the TP or DI.

I am playing Kai'li 65tx in driver coming from the Ventus blue(hooked it too much). I am looking for a Titliest offering for a new fairway wood. You know way more than me any ideas?

What are you looking for specifically for your fairway metal?  A low/low shaft like your driver?

I think so... Most difficult club in my bag. If I am lucky I have 0 AOA with fariway. I have always liked the feel of a "blue" profile but have always suffered with poor dispersion from them. I need a fw that I can count for tighter dispersion. It will primarly be a "off the deck" club. As I made the move to a driving iron and am pleased with results. I need to take the left miss out of the club for sure but would like some launch...

One of the Tour AD should do that for you, or a Ventus Blue.

I would recommend the UB for fairway metal.  I  found it harder to turn over than any other mid launch shaft.  On paper, it's a more stiffened up DI but plays nothing like it.  Feel is second to none.

Thanks man you are the best and one of the reasons I still frequent this site. The "OG's" know so much...

XC is current gamer, and I had BB in the bag for a while (and could easily go back to it).

I tried a TP 6X for a few rounds last year.  Agree with @phizzy30 and @third-times-a-charm's comments.  XC and BB are more linear.  TP has more load, a bit more snap and easier to turn over.

But that might work for you in a 3W.  The feel isn't far off, and most golfers swing the 3W smoother than their driver.  I wouldn't worry about the weight, just add some lead tape if it feels light.  TP is a good shaft. I'd check it out.
