Mevo+ or bushnell launch pro?

It'll be setup outdoors only.

I'll hit into a net.

While I'm sure I'll monitor club data periodically, and launch/spin a bit more, the primary 2 uses will be

1. Just reps...so I need to see accurate ballflight, especially left/right curve. I need to see the 3d view. I need to have the balflight show up either on my phone (android) or on a tablet (android or iPad wouldn't matter - I need to buy one)

2. Ball speed - for speed training

Based on all this....which would you buy and why?

The age old question. Simple answer is the BLP if you have / can justify the added expenses (unit, subscription, gaming computer). Bonus is that it reads spin axis directly so shot shape should be excellent.

Mevo plus is a much better value but it does have some limitations. It calculates spin axis from club data and always assumes center contact for that calculation so off center hits / gear effect will not be accounted for which can impact curvature. Really only matters for woods not irons.

I have Mevo plus with the pro package and think it is very good for representing ball flight for irons. Have to monitor strike location to trust ball flight with woods. I only have 9’ of ball flight. The more the better. 13’ is min ideal amount.

waiting on Mevo plus to recognize the RCT ball which will help with spin reads (not spin axis) with woods. Should make a noticeable difference as Mevo plus tends to over estimate spin indoors with woods and because of that under represents carry.

Ball speed - either device would fine.

Awesome info. Do you know if flightscope has a timeliness for when they'll read the rct ball?

It has always read it, just occasionally throws out a doubled spin value or 45° spin axis.

You know it's a misread because of that, though. Just waiting on an officially supported algorithm to work out the kinks.

For your needs, the Mevo+ would be fine. You are outdoors, using an iPad, with room for ball flight, so you will be able to get some great data especially with the Pro Package. I don't know if you really need anything else, especially given the price point. The software is easy to use and it pairs well with iPad.

I actually have the GC3 and obviously I considered Mevo+, but it came down to using it mostly indoors with limited room for ball flight. I love the GC3 and with my laptop and big screen, it checks all the boxes I need it to check. I know that some guys use the BLP/GC3 with an iPad, but I prefer it with a laptop.

Thanks. After more consideration the last couple of weeks, the mevo+ is the clear choice. Hopefully will have it in a few weeks. Getting the yard setup for a dedicated hitting area too.

Plus 3 on the Mevo+.  I use mine in a garage setup with 22’ of total space.  I have the pro package and I love it.  I was considering an upgrade to a BLP, but not going to at this point in time.  I wanted to upgrade just for the ease of use to use outdoors on the course or range as it’s easier to setup and less space required for ball tracking.  Plus after seeing many of the issues with firmware updates that put me off as well.
