This year is a complete overhaul. It is not an epic, rogue, or mavric refresh. It is a new beginning.

Could they be going away from "jailbreak"?

They already have in principle - in the Rogue ST line of fairways and hybrids there is no more bars in the middle but 'batwings' on the sides of the face.

That was a jailbreak improvement not really a move away.

Callaway could use a good paradigm shift.

OG Epic SZ was really amazing, and I could easily still play that club.  Not too many huge leaps forward since 2017', beyond a few TD versions.  Callaway is due for a big release.

I'll enjoy the marketing either way.

I think you're right.  I also agree on the OG Epic SZ.  Could probably be the biggest boost in driver performance that I have seen in the past decade or so.  Real game changer.  They've been putting out really good products in the meantime.  But, I would love for something new and exciting to come out.  Really looking forward to seeing the new line in the coming months.

I don't see how they can exponentially increase performance over the Rogue ST line. Absolutely unbelievable drivers across the lineup. With things so maxed out spec wise I'm not sure how much better they can really get at this point.

I've seen them 🤐; count me as VERY eager to see what their performance is like. As good as the Rogue ST line was it also wasn't without its issues, and those issues were addressed in spades with the new stuff (have to step around the specifics of that for now). From the looks of them, there is serious potential across the entire line of woods. But potential and manifested performance and how the golfing public receives a product line are two very different things, so we'll see.

I'm a bit of a fanboy, but I'm excited to see what they've got cooking.

I've put the Mavrik SZ TD back in the bag for sim season. I just couldn't find a Rogue TD combo that wasn't really hooky for me. (Although to be fair I never really gave the regular Max LS a fair shot.)

Then I am definitely interested to see as everyone at my club that hit it this year was a major fan especially in the MAX LS and the TD versions.

This is freaking good news. Tidbits, I know.

2023 was looking at the 430 LST but at (proposed) $649, I am hoping Callaway would be more sensible. If neither works out, nothing wrong with my ST Max combo.

I find it hard to believe the ST Max can be improved upon. No, I never had any issues with this line. As for hooks, it's in the swing and grip. That's just golf and can happen on any driver unless it's silly open.

I'm sure the price will jump on this newest one to be in-line with the Stealth/+  ($749/779 here in Canada).

Callaway improved the sound and feel of Epic with Rogue ST line.  Plus they were very fine looking drivers w/matte and gold accents.  Rogue Max LS paired with ZF was damn near perfect for me this last year.  This new tech story has me pumped bc it truly is new.  If you are Callaway and witness to the marketing hype of “the carbon era” by Taylormade, then I’m sure they’ve been itching to put something phenomenal out like Titleist did with TSR.

I've been holding off on buying a new driver mostly to see what they've been cooking up. I came so close to getting a Rogue St Max LS a few times as I really like it, but my Epic Speed Tour AD IZ combo really get along so holding off for next year's releases doesn't hurt my feelings.

Hey all,

Loving the comments in here and wanted to give you a quick response. All I will tell you (taking off my Callaway hat for a moment) is that this upcoming line will not only get US gear heads excited but I believe its the best work R&D has done. These past few years have been great but have all lead up to this. Im ridiculously excited for you all to see what we got.

Really strange they are keeping the Epic current and replacing the Rogue line.  You’d think it would be the other way around.  Cally is throwing us a curve ball this year.

No your right lol. The current is the rouge. I was looking at pics of the epic max LS when I was writing that and got it back to front sorry.

rouge stays! Epic goes.

epic was released using the word paradigm.

I liked the matte!

How about moveable weights - that would really have helped me iron out my issues with the Max line, I like fine tuning in drivers

I was a fan of the moveable weight until the ST Max. No need for it, since it's super forgiving especially on the toe miss. Love it.

Bring it on Callaway, bring it on.... think this thread just talked me out of the G430... 😂

    • In-hand photos of 2023 TaylorMade Stealth 2 Plus, Stealth 2, Stealth 2 HD drivers + fairways woods
Check out our front page launch stories here and here.

What you need to know: For the first time, carbon is the most prevalent material by volume in a TaylorMade driver, and more carbon equals better performance, says the company. Last year, TaylorMade debuted a 60X Carbon Twist Face. With TaylorMade Stealth 2, engineers are bringing carbon to more of the golf club — and unveiling a new-and-improved Carbon Twist Face in the process. Stealth 2 Plus (low spin, most workable) Stealth 2, and Stealth 2 HD (draw bias, high launch, most forgiving) drivers make up the Stealth 2 family.

      Stealth 2 HD

What you need to know: Breakthrough movable weight technologies and versatile designs are the hallmarks of the 2023 TaylorMade Stealth 2 fairway woods. Stealth 2 Plus is branded as “three fairway woods in one” owing to the unique performance characteristics afforded by the 50-gram sole weight. Stealth 2 features a slightly lower profile 3D carbon crown than Stealth. This moves CG down and away from the toe with more weight in the rear of the club for higher launch and MOI. Ultra-high MOI Stealth 2 HD features an oversized 200cc head and low-profile sole, creating an easy-to-hit, draw-biased club.
