I'm the one overthinking it? Y'all are acting like he walked over and punched the SWK in the face. This stuff happens at every Ryder Cup/Pres Cup and it will continue to happen, and that's what makes these events fun/different from stroke play. It's fun to see these guys get after each other for a change, and if any of them truly had a problem with we'd hear about it.

I think that is the point.  Until Thomas, guys knew it was part of the game and expected it.  Who else has reacted this way to not being given a 3 foot putt?

People on both teams do it every single RC/PC. Off the top of my head, Westwood, Shane lowry, and JT did it just last year at the RC

I didn't think his reaction was too over the top but it did come off as self entitled especially since in the foursomes and other play he refused to give any putts of similar length... even when Spieth asked him about giving their opponents a two footer... JT shook it off indicating nope. What you giveth you must be willing to taketh also.

his trouble is , he externalizes it still. That’s where he has growing to do.  The trick is to internalize it.  Once you figure out how to use it as fuel.  It will make you smile. Watch MJ or bird.  They sought out conflict.  Wanted someone to insult them.  Begged for it.  Because it’s how they leveled up.  He will figure it out.    The lesson tiger can give him is this.  Saying less is more.  Don’t give them the reaction.  Sometimes not even when you win or make a putt.  Indifference confuses most humans.  And in some it strikes fear.  
 

this is just a case of trying too hard.  Caring too much.  And being mad when you underachieve.

I don't understand why guys get upset about having to putt out in match play.  If a putt is worthy of a gimme, it's a putt you're making 99%-100% of the time.  Just walk up and knock it in. Kim was trying to get in his head a little bit and it worked.  Not to mention the fact that the US had a big lead going in to singles.  I can appreciate that the International team was still fighting for every point.

i'd bet half the people saying he's a brat are the ones saying they don't like cantlay because he's boring ...  jt takes it to the edge a bit ... sometimes goes over the line ...
