Hey everybody! After lurking the equipment forums since I picked up the game close to decade ago, I have finally gotten my bag to a point where I am happy with the feel and performance all 14 clubs. Solid bag. Real solid. I did some major downsizing on the marketplace because I always end up going back to my CB-57s. They’re the best.

Can I ask how you got your Miuras? I got mine here back in 2018, in beautiful condition for about half the price of what a banged up set costs now. The pandemic changed a lot of things and Miuras, even though they were never plentiful, are even more rare now despite them being more well known than ever.

Thanks! I agree, the feel out of the sweet spot of these things is better than any blade I've tried. The mishits aren't nearly as penalizing either.

I got lucky and found a clean set on eBay the day they got posted, I think I paid about 900 after shipping

What swing weight do you play the driver at? Looks like a ton of weight added to the head

D4, I added two 6 gram weights and about 4 more grams of lead tape. I play my driver at 44" along with midsize corded grips, the swingweight was about C5 before I added any weight to the head

Haha I don't get why people dont like it, it's the cheapest and easiest way to fine tune a club to your liking. Do people just hate how it looks?

That is what most people think anyhow----- I am with you the cheapest and easiest way to fine tune a club. I could care less about the "percieved" looks. If i see a fellow player with a set like yours I draw the conclusion he knows his equipment and has it tuned for his game

Killer bag! 915 fairways are such a classic. Curious though why you'd opt for multiple lighters weights over a single heavier one since they are available up to 18g.

I LOVE the 915's, my favorite 3 wood I've ever had. Just got the 7 wood built a few weeks ago and it has already become the new favorite club in my bag.

Thinking back I really didn't consider all of my options lol. My monkey brain saw that there were two more spots for weights and thought that I must fill both of them. It would have been cheaper just to buy the one weight too. I've been justifying it by telling myself that it looks cooler / more custom with the three weights instead of one haha

When they came in the mail I was really surprised by how much shorter heel to toe they looked compared to the Nike VR TW's I'd been playing. The difference in how badly I was penalized for slight mishits helped me get over the difference in aesthetics pretty quickly. With my blades I would lose at least 10-15 yards on a slightly chunky, high strike. With the CB57's I lose maybe 3 or 4 is all

How do you like the flow neck? I feel like it creates way too much toe hang. My stroke isn't that arched.

Hah it does for sure. Should you ever want to effect any CG/flight changes though i'd definitely look into a single heavy weight as you'll get some decent CG movement with that. The TSi3 is slightly fade biased (sweet spot slightly toe side of center) which would be pretty much unchanged with the weight in your configuration. If you have a bit of a toe miss then that is probably good as is, but if you ever miss in the heel or generally favor that side then a single heavy weight slightly heel side will likely yield better performance overall. Just something to consider! I've long favored shorter, heavier drivers and have experimented a ton with that setup. My current SIM is doing the same thing you're doing basically, 12g rear weight increased to 21g plus about 5-6g of hotmelt back against it at 44.25" playing length. I have a couple 915's sitting around too that have heavier weights in them, and one that I think has 10g of hotmelt in it that sounds like a persimmon, heh.

Yeh I used to chop and change between the Vr Tw and a set of titleist 670 mb, the 670 were really short and quite squat in size. Ended up getting really used to that look and end up looking for irons the same. That's why I moved on from the I Blades. They were far too long for my eye.

I could never game it for the same reason you mentioned. I feel like I'm never gonna push or pull a putt with a putter with no or almost no toe hang. I was just shocked at how the milled face on the PLD felt almost as soft as the insert of the Tyne 4

That's interesting, I always thought a fade bias meant that there was more weight in the toe therefore it made the face harder to turn over. I'll definitely consider going to the single weight, this is the first driver I've ever gamed that has any kind of sliding weight so I have no idea what moving the weight around actually changed.

After putting about 11 grams of lead tape on my 7 wood it has a really satisfying THWACK sound out of the sweet spot, it's pretty awesome haha

Yeh I used to chop and change between the Vr Tw and a set of titleist 670 mb, the 670 were really short and quite squat in size. Ended up getting really used to that look and end up looking for irons the same. That's why I moved on from the I Blades. They were far too long for my eye.

Huh, that's funny that the iBlades looked too long. I've the the Ping Blueprints and they were the tiniest irons I've ever hit. I wonder if there's a huge difference in size between the two

The whole supposed impact on face rotation based on weight placement is one of those sorts of things that kinda kept getting repeated despite the fact that it hasn't ever really been measured or proven, to my knowledge anyway. What we DO know very well is the impact that gear effect has on the ball when you miss the sweet spot, and therefore moving the sweet spot around with adjustable weight has a direct and measurable impact. I tend to always live fractionally toe side on the face with my driver for example, but I also almost always try to play a small fade. The gear effects of a toe strike tilt the ball towards draw spin, so I absolutely do not get along with drivers that are at all draw biased as I start double crossing and then compensating for the double cross. A fade biased driver then, one with its sweet spot slightly toe side, works perfect for me for what I need. I never think about influencing face closure or anything like that because with adjustable hosels you can set the face angle however you want really to help get what you want at impact (mine is cranked down/open to help with the fade).

If you ever feel like tweaking with all this stuff then it's pretty simple. Get something that allows you to track your impact location on the face (foot spray, impact tape, even some range balls will leave enough of a mark to see) and gather data on your strike tendencies over several range sessions (however many you need to establish a strong pattern). With that data in hand, put that up against what sort of flight you want to see (or NOT see) and you can move weights accordingly. If you miss toe side and hate seeing a draw/hook then move weight towards the toe, vice versa for the heel. If you tend to be pretty centered but miss up/down on the face then you'll want to mess more with tee height/swing mechanics, but weight can still be used to influence flight a bit if you want to help eliminate one side. For maximum forgiveness you want the heaviest single weight you can get positioned furthest from the face (either center in the track or one notch towards the toe). Combine all that with ability manipulate face angle and you have a lot of power to tune things to your needs. 👍

Wow, thank you! Looks like I'm gonna have to order that weight sooner rather than later, I've got something else to tweak haha. That's some really helpful info I appreciate it

I could never game it for the same reason you mentioned. I feel like I'm never gonna push or pull a putt with a putter with no or almost no toe hang. I was just shocked at how the milled face on the PLD felt almost as soft as the insert of the Tyne 4

Yeah, the PLDs are something special.
