I can well imagine that it tests your game! Probably a good test for the LPGA judging by the scores. I still think it looks like a municipal golf course. Never been there or even to Texas.

In North Texas this summer we had 68 days with no rainfall (then downtown got 19" with a few hours and all the concrete could not handle it, of course). Also, July had an average temp of 105 degrees. It got a little parched. Our clay soils do not absorb moisture very well, it runs right off.

Golf here in Texas is a little bit different than where you live. That's why we all love the game. Each course, each state has unique courses that never play the same way each time we're on them.

You'd love Lions Muny in Austin, where Ben Crenshaw learned the game, and the old Austin Country Club where Harvey Pence taught both Ben and Tom Kite. Old school layouts, small greens, drop off's and what we call "hill country roll-out".

A few good golfers who learned on both municipal and club course have come out of Texas and won some tournaments on tour. Let me think of some and I'll be back later with a list. 🙂

Stay salty my friend!

I know it's your schtick, but could you please use the player's names in there somewhere?

I have to root for Charley Hull, because any player who says it's cheating to play golf without blades is my kind of golfer.  If not her, So Yeon Ryu.

Janet = Janet Lin Its her English name.

Yealimi Noh shot another solid final round with Patrick Smith on the bag, -5 with no bogeys.  They did the same thing three weeks ago in Cincinnati.

Yealimi now has 370.390 CME points and is ranked #74; she needs another 230 points (a solo third) in order to break #60 and qualify for CME Tour Championship.

Charley looking solid. Starting to separate herself from the chasers.

Lydia needs to get moving, as she's stalled out on the back.

I keep waiting for her full send mentality to bite her in the arse, but she's going along pretty well. On that note... LET'S GO JANET!!!

Her aggressive approach on the 18th seems to have paid off. Some days it pays to push the pedal to the metal.

Nice approach by Janet. It's going to come down to a putting contest on the final hole. Good stuff.

Nice win by Charley. I don't think it's a stretch to say that she's underperformed on the tour, but this week was solid. She went low when it mattered, and didn't appear to be passive out there.

Another close call by Janet. She keeps knocking on the door and it will open sooner or later. That one blemish on her card was the difference.

Lydia continues to impress. She's certainly put her doldrums behind her. With Jin Young injured, and Nelly a bit off, can she regain the Rolex #1?

Congrats to Charley, 2 wins seems a little light for her she should have more IMO.  Also congrats top Judy she had a great career in the booth, I don't really care/pay attention to commentators, cause if I do they all annoy in some way, so I'm good with whoever replaces her lol.  Janet's getting close but she's gotta convert, you only get so many shots to do it when you play well and Lydia too while she does have a win and has closed strong on many Sundays to get the Top 10 she's also missed a few chances to close one out and get a win.

This CME race thing might be interesting if it mattered for anything other than who get to tee last in round 1 of the event 😋

It's kind of like professional football/soccer . . . as the teams at the bottom of the table(standings) are fighting to avoid relegation!  Some of the best matches come from those teams, particularly when they play each other!

Side note to those that may not follow professional football/soccer in Europe, the major leagues all have a "relegation" zone where the bottom 3 teams (for the English Premier League) go back down to the next league (Championship League) and the top 3 teams in that league are promoted to the Premier League.

Yeah, the fights for survival always fun to watch, I mean at the top.  The race between Lydia, Minjee, Brooke and Atthaya could be fun if winning it actually meant something.  You might as well use green and red to represent which players are in the top 60, what place they are doesn't really matter.  Now if you switched the tour finale to match play then your spot would matter but right now you can be 1st for what you accomplished over 20 events and end up 60th cause of how you finished in one event (last), just doesn't seem right to me.

Last week watching the President's Cup on a pristine golf course, makes the course in Texas this week look especially rough.  October in Texas isn't a "green" month like many in other parts of the country.  I'm in the southern New Mexico mountains and August & September/October are our greenest months.  So The Colony certainly doesn't look it's best right now.  But it seems that they could've at least trimmed around the bunkers, they are really rough looking.   Nice win for Charley, it's been a long time.

Sunday pics. Lydia broke my heart with her smile. She lipped out a chip on 17 for eagle, and lipped out birdie putt on 18. But Posh Charly really was a great winner all week!

For the Wisconsin fans. I grabbed him and told him he was to leave the course immediately. I'm 73 and got in his face. He was so Wisconsin-nice and took me seriously! After about 5 seconds it was all laughs. He told me he got to Texas as soon as he could! LOL.

Yes, we had 68 days without rain this summer, and July saw average temp at 105 degrees. All the courses are a bit parched.

I think this course, where it sits out on the lake peninsula, was designed to be sorta like a links, little earth moved, tons of natural untouched areas, and rough looking bunkers. Staffs at area courses are all hurting for maintenance workers, so they do the best that they can. 🙂

    • In-hand photos of 2023 TaylorMade Stealth 2 Plus, Stealth 2, Stealth 2 HD drivers + fairways woods
Check out our front page launch stories here and here.

What you need to know: For the first time, carbon is the most prevalent material by volume in a TaylorMade driver, and more carbon equals better performance, says the company. Last year, TaylorMade debuted a 60X Carbon Twist Face. With TaylorMade Stealth 2, engineers are bringing carbon to more of the golf club — and unveiling a new-and-improved Carbon Twist Face in the process. Stealth 2 Plus (low spin, most workable) Stealth 2, and Stealth 2 HD (draw bias, high launch, most forgiving) drivers make up the Stealth 2 family.

      Stealth 2 HD

What you need to know: Breakthrough movable weight technologies and versatile designs are the hallmarks of the 2023 TaylorMade Stealth 2 fairway woods. Stealth 2 Plus is branded as “three fairway woods in one” owing to the unique performance characteristics afforded by the 50-gram sole weight. Stealth 2 features a slightly lower profile 3D carbon crown than Stealth. This moves CG down and away from the toe with more weight in the rear of the club for higher launch and MOI. Ultra-high MOI Stealth 2 HD features an oversized 200cc head and low-profile sole, creating an easy-to-hit, draw-biased club.
