Would love a full set of cavity backs tbh. I wonder if this will ever be an option.

Came here to say this. The design in CB form looks REALLY nice.

Best looking pxg irons ever in my eyes. Ever since I saw the proto’s i thought they’d be one of the only irons on the market i’d consider moving on from iblades for. And the move from mb’s in the 3 and 4 is cool. Who needs blades in those lofts in ‘22 anyway

That are really solid irons too. Feel

is really soft and actually have some good distance for a blade. I went and played them before looking at the specs and was shocked that I was still hitting my distances, or very close to them. Lofts are a little weak by todays standards with a 47* PW. Gap wedge looks good and is pretty versatile around the green for pitching and chipping. The 4i is for sure easier to hit and a little longer from heel to toe but blends well with the rest of the set.

but how are they to hit relative to other blades? do these feel better and do they seem easier to hit than other blades?

Easier is relative to the user's skill and attention to details.  I play 620 MB's and think they are easy to hit, and I am older than most.  Blades are challenging, no matter who makes them, but Callaway's Apex Pro Blades maybe the most forgiving blades out there.

I looked at their 0317 specs, mainly offset, and it appears reasonable, as is their price.

They look cool, Art Deco influenced a bit it feels like to me.

I like that the lofts are higher , I'd rather play my set pitching wedge as a wedge rather than having to carry an armada of 3 or 4 different wedges that don't match my set. I'd be tempted to have them bent 2 degrees weak and pair it with a 56 degree sand wedge and call it a day.

I am 100% picking up a set of these if the price goes down even a dollar, I just need a reason lol

Seems unusal to have cavity backs in the 3, 4 irons when the entire design philosophy of pxg has been the hidden cavity front like the 0311t using xcor2.

Why not have those long irons like those?

They may not be able to have as narrow a sole with their main cavity front design is my guess...maybe not.  They did introduce cavity irons in the 0211 series.  Also, if the cavity front design was used perhaps the hotter nature of that design would not blend as well as the plain cavity back. Interesting design departure.

Generally speaking, people playing a “tour” level iron like the 0317 st, dont really want a high cor design. There are exceptions of course, you will see some with driving irons. This design, the traditional cavity design in the 3 and 4 irons, maintains the feel and performance that the blades provide but just lowering the mass a bit as strikes tend to be lower on long irons as AOA gets shallower. I say well done PXG.

For my limited experience with blades every year, I just don't test out that many as a 9.7, They were close to on par with the Srixon Z Forged. Now the mishits would penalize me slightly more with the PXG, but not by a large difference. For me these are prob in the top half of blades I have tried in terms of forgiveness. I have been playing a combo set of 0311 T Gen5 (5-7) and 0317 ST (8-P) and I can for sure tell the difference on a low toe strike with how much farther and higher the 0311 T go. But currently I am really liking that combo setup and have played well with it.

If nothing else showed us that they have ex-Ping designers working there - this sure does. Big time i210/S55 vibes.
