You're creating some good forces and clearly have a good amount of power, but there is big issue in your lower body sequencing that is leading to the typical early extension/loss of posture/handle raising/flip at impact problems which cause all sorts of face control issues:

Mkn88EE.gif.a8e82010b5ba55e0268701908b3c1921.gifAdamDriverImpact.gif.b993d39a724f318da28ede1fef37b2b8.gif

All the main differences we're seeing here are a product of the lower body sequencing stuff. Being up on your toes (particularly your left toe) instead of getting into your left heel like we see Adam doing and all the accompanying standing up, loss of posture, and loss of depth of a symptom of that. Lets start here:

Mkn88Backswing.gif.e7cf8b0016095d71011b61e2380a1b6b.gifAdamTopDriver.gif.76f217dfcf79bf3f8210e22c12f51ca2.gif

Up to the top of the swing we see you starting to lose overall structure and balance. It looks like you've locked out your right leg (no more flexion in the knee) and you've continued rotating by collapsing your left side in towards the camera. Also notice your right foot and how your heel is almost starting to lift and move inwards. At this point in the swing you should be pretty firmly planted on that trail foot, favoring the heel side, and should only be slightly coming up towards your toe as you begin transition. This suggests you might be falling victim to the idea of "making a big, full turn" without knowing where you're supposed to stop. It's the flawed idea that you should be making as big a turn as you can going back and then reversing that in the downswing, when in fact you should *only* be "turning" as much as you need to setup the next stage of the swing. The above mentioned details plus the fact that your head is coming up and your spine angle is decreasing as you reach the top suggests you're simply going too far. Note how Adam at the same points in his backswing is doing much more "bracing" and readying himself to start the downswing moves and not continuing to simply turn until he can't anymore. Staying in balance here is crucial for that comes next:

Mkn88Trans2.gif.bb6cbe18ea59226f4965b5c70014011a.gifAdamDriverTrans2.gif.a6da1dc7c505e8b7e49c3de8e2a2fecb.gif

This is functionally the beginning of your downswing, the first move from the top after your backswing completes. We see a crouch move and a shift up towards your toes but zero rotation. Compare to Adam who's left hip immediately starts clearing back. The crouching you're doing here can be interpreted as you getting into a stronger position to rotate from, but the problem is the fact that needed be be established *before* you started your downswing, not at the start of it. At this point in the swing you have a fraction of a second before you're going to be at impact, and any delay in making the necessary movements to get to a solid impact position is death when it comes to consistency.

Mkn88Impact2.gif.da83a30d6421125e486c4059c250f18a.gifAdamDriverImpactArrows.gif.704d2ba927a7b267713a457529f9b0b8.gif

Through the downswing to impact we see several fundamental differences here. Whether due to the sequencing problems already discussed, or simply due to not knowing the correct way to use the lower body, or both, you extend up and towards the ball while not achieving clearance with your lead side while losing your posture and being forced to extend your arms and throw the club at the ball.

What you're feeling and/or trying to do in the downswing will inform how you go about fixing this overall sequencing issue. It looks like you're trying to create power with a lot of crouching and jumping and "using the ground", but you have to achieve some degree of hip clearance because all fundamentally correct lower body forces away from the ball to some degree:

WolffJump.gif.dbb0157fbefe683767313c5fdbca557b.gifSchefflerJump.gif.d4301aea9e72aa554d48b489c8e1b5f6.gifTigerJumo.gif.4606f2303c6e110a6ffc053fc914f9be.gif

Three completely different looks, but all three with lower bodies working away from the ball approaching impact. Learning how to create this force takes some work, but understanding how the hips work is first part. Check the AMG video linked below for the best primer on that and understand that getting this part of your swing working correctly is key to dealing face control issues.

Hi Valtiel,

Thanks a lot for the in depth reply, you cleaely know your golfing fundamentals. It makes perfect sense what you have described and given me a lot to work on 👍🏻 lower body sequencing is always something I have struggled with. I can play some good golf when my timing is OK but when it's slightly off I struggle a lot. Thanks again for the reply.

You are striking the ball at low point of your swing arc, which is not good, and you are out of position in relation to the ball.

I can tell this because you hit the ball down your shoulder line when a ball hit off the ground should look like a push on video and yours does not. Your impact in the shot below is not levered as well as it should be because you are not striking the ball with a negative enough angle of attack as no shot should be stuck at low point of the swing arc. So how to correct it?

image.png.3b5704e3611efd23928fa2e46eb25a9a.png

Representation of the shot you hit where your shoulders are parallel to the target line (not good) and you are striking the ball at the low point of the swing arc (not good):

image.png.1b699026fae7606adb7377eba65d3eee.png

This is your setup and from this setup you should be hitting a ball towards the right side of the hitting net to lever it:

image.png.62dfce894b4a1e3bbd465f36280686d5.png

Representation of how a levered strike from your above set up would look like and notice how the low point (the pencil mark on the trash can lid) of the swing arc can now be seen and how the pencil representing the club face is pointing out to the right. This represents a levered strike with a negative angle of attack for the shoulder line you are demonstrating and why it should be hitting the right side of your hitting net:

image.png.9a77e6d27b5ce8901e5b2549b6e02a5f.png

So to fix it your aim and strike you would need to rotate your entire swing base in a semicircle to the left to move your low point of your swing arc in front of the ball and this will also move the base of your plane or shoulder line to the left so your shoulder line would actually point more to the left side of your net as a reference to hit a ball off the ground into the middle of the net and it would look like this:

image.png.969565d5a61d5b87357eea95656dd68c.png

Now then on to your driver swing. Your hit this ball dead on at the point that you should have from your particular tee height. I was looking at your tee height and setup and saying that the shot to be levered would be hit at the right edge of those cans behind the net and that is exactly where you hit it so that is fantastic:

image.png.0f00dcf51c0499b3c91241095c1bba47.png

Since you tee the ball pretty low this means that your setup of shoulders roughly parallel to the target line will work for this particular tee height because you are striking the ball just after the low point of the swing arc but it cannot be used for a ball being hit off the ground because a ball hit off the ground will be struck at a different location along the swing arc.

For reference this a representation of a ball being hit off a tee and you can see that it is struck after the pencil mark and you can also see how the plane of the swing is orienting more to the right to allow for a positive angle of attack the pencil would be much closer to the pencil mark for your particular shot because you teed it lower so hopefully you can see how your shoulders being pretty much parallel to the target line will work:

image.png.5c8438027be7abdb9f49f4678f7f3cb3.png

The setup for driver or a ball being hit with a positive angle of attack is not the same as that for any ball being hit off the ground with a negative angle of attack and that is a very important distinction to understand. If you have any further questions or need clarification on anything don't hesitate to ask and I will gladly clarify further but if you make that one adjustment with your low point on a ball being hit off the ground you should be on your way no doubt.  R to L

Just something that I want to make known to you based on @Valtiel's post...

Look at your posture at setup:

image.png.cdd312097a8361342058b0597b849788.png

You're hunched with drooped shoulders at setup. You can't swing the club without engaging those muscles, that alone is going to change your path. Add in the fact that your setup is not leaving you in a balanced position to take a swing. You're going to have a hard time with consistency.
