No surprise as the OC is not set up to test the Pros. Sensibly it allows the amateurs to enjoy their games. Kingsbarns isn't a tour venue. Scenic, wide open and not really a true links. Carnoustie is the proper course.

I managed to watch some yesterday afternoon when I get home. Love this event! I usually try and get down to watch on the Saturday but it's not to be this year. They always seem to get a decent amount of big names although there is a lot of chaff amongst the wheat with some names that really leave me asking "who?". 

 

The shotgun start this morning is an interesting one given everything else that is happening in the world of golf but given the weather here this morning, I think that they will still be lucky to get round. With it being a Pro-Am, there have been times when I have been down to watch and it has taken some of the groups around 6 hours to get round. If they take that long today then I can see of the scores soaring.

Rory was down 30mph wind, yes it was some shot but still. Funny now they grow the rough in at about 330 ish or 360ish from that tee to stop the balls ending up near the green! to get there now he would really have to hug the right side of the fairway perfectly!

I love this tournament too, was intending on heading down when Rory was on the Old Course but might not manage now tomorrow, its amazing it is free the first 3 days!

 

I actually have Rorys caddy in my apartment for the week!

 

The weather is already horrendous here in Aberdeen; big gusts and light rain, the radar is looking terrible form 11 and the winds here will be over 50mph. 

 

They have no chance of finishing, I am currently trying to figure out how I can get all I need to do today with leaving my house as little as possible!

He paid for it on his own credit card!

 

As far as I know, Rory stay in the Old Course hotel, there is a sweet named after him there.

It actually a gorgeous apartment right in the centre of St Andrews( 3 minute walk to the Old Course or 1 minute to the main shops/bars), that is perfect to have a short vacation in!

there are some horrendous ones, very over priced, when I was looking last year. So many of them are perfect for students but not if you are wanting to use it as a luxury short term rent.

 

I am shocked they are still playing, coverage starts in 20 minutes.
