Too late for the side bet?

Ha! Was definitely expecting him to go lower. Great tournament for the kid!

That left side was too brutal. I was rooting for Kim but didn't want Cantlay to lose like that. After years of watching Cantlay, now I like him much more. That triple bogey putt was money.

Yeah I like to root against him, but there isn't anyone really better.

I'm always surprised by his length bc he's so unassuming.

What do you Cantlay haters hold against him? His looks? Look in the mirror. His game? There‘s only a few better right now. His personality? He seems to be a halfway smart guy who doesn’t talk bulls*^*. He acts like a professional, doesn’t treat people bad. That miss on 18 was bad. A Playoff would have been nice.

And Tom Kim? That guy is cool! He goes after it, no fear, he can be one of the future stars of this game.

That 18th hole for Patrick Cantlay - OUCH!! That has got to sting and leave some bad memories in the bank.

Don’t understand the haters either.  I appreciate a consummate professional like Cantlay.  Not everyone is going to have an outgoing personality, especially in golf.  He’s a great player.

Watching the final hole again, couldn't Cantlay hit a flop shot to fairway?

I mean, his ball was right behind that bush. Tough to get it out regardless of what type of shot you choose. Maybe he could have tried going backwards but wouldn't have been able to take a stance to really try that either.

The guy was/is one of the most accomplished Am's in history, then was completely sidelined by a combo of severe back injury AND having his best friend literally killed in front of him at the same time only to rebuild his swing around said back injury, grind his way back, and now sits in the top 5 in the world. MAYBE you can set aside the grave concerns about lip smacking and what his face looks like to respect that overcame what would crush most of us.

AND - he didn't take the easy money. That's earned more respect in my book that all the others combined.

But notice how you VERY conveniently left out the part about him throwing bags of puppies into the river.  Can't cherry pick your facts man.

First off were not being serious here. Secondly don't speak on people online you have no idea what myself or others have been through.

I saw Cantaly at a PGA tour event on the putting green and he wouldn't even acknowledge some young fans. Everyone else was very generous with their time , it was a Tuesday practice round.

Talk about a GRINDER. Makes a 30-footer for triple on 18 to secure T-2. Matthew NeSmith was probably like "are you serious? I could have had solo second bud!"

Heading to 18, Matthew probably thought he had no chance at 2nd place money.

He jumped from 552 to 712...so a nice $160000 bonus for Cantlay's meltdown.

That's a nice bonus for doing nothing!

Anyone know what the situation is for T. Kim, S.J. Im, K.H. Lee and S.W. Kim regarding their compulsory military service?

It may be a bit early for T. Kim to consider at this stage.

Exemptions are available if a person wins a medal at the Olympics or gold at the Asian Games.

Correct. I would be surprised if they don't all compete in the Asian Games next summer  Amongst regular pros, only K.H Lee was able to be exempt, and now he's playing the best golf of his career in his early 30s. Not sure what the status of Ben An is, but nice to see him playing strongly this season.

It's so hard to win on Tour.  So many good players who can go 5 years without a win or even 10 years for some.  And Thomas Train comes along and wins 2 in 4 events.  Just incredible stuff.  Only Tiger has had 2 wins at age of 20 since WWII.  That is a crazy stat.

Now how in the hell am I supposed to know the guy's life story when all I'm really guilty of is rooting against him for a low dollar bet? Jeez.

It's as if "the internet of things" has created some new burden to not only know the normal amount about your light hearted postings, but be DEEPLY KNOWLEDGEABLE about the life of every celebrity you choose to comment about.

Are you a closet lip smacker or something?

Man, I've been trying to find out how how Tiger was for number 3 just for the sake of comparison.

Also, there's gonna be some kind of asterisk it it happens bc of the exodus to that other thing that will remain nameless.

    • In-hand photos of 2023 TaylorMade Stealth 2 Plus, Stealth 2, Stealth 2 HD drivers + fairways woods
Check out our front page launch stories here and here.

What you need to know: For the first time, carbon is the most prevalent material by volume in a TaylorMade driver, and more carbon equals better performance, says the company. Last year, TaylorMade debuted a 60X Carbon Twist Face. With TaylorMade Stealth 2, engineers are bringing carbon to more of the golf club — and unveiling a new-and-improved Carbon Twist Face in the process. Stealth 2 Plus (low spin, most workable) Stealth 2, and Stealth 2 HD (draw bias, high launch, most forgiving) drivers make up the Stealth 2 family.

What you need to know: Breakthrough movable weight technologies and versatile designs are the hallmarks of the 2023 TaylorMade Stealth 2 fairway woods. Stealth 2 Plus is branded as “three fairway woods in one” owing to the unique performance characteristics afforded by the 50-gram sole weight. Stealth 2 features a slightly lower profile 3D carbon crown than Stealth. This moves CG down and away from the toe with more weight in the rear of the club for higher launch and MOI. Ultra-high MOI Stealth 2 HD features an oversized 200cc head and low-profile sole, creating an easy-to-hit, draw-biased club.
