New Srixon ZX7 MKII irons – 2022 Shriners Children's Open

Anyone think these are better enough than the last edition of the zx7 if I can get them for  a deep discount?'

Basically, These are $140/club vs. $90/club for last years model.

Been pondering the same question. Love the originals and wondering if it's worth the upgrade. Been told by a rep the change is only weight placement.

I'm going to keep it real. The only reason someone wants new irons at this stage is they are playing an iron model that is several years old, they have not been fit properly, both of the previous, OR they just want some new swag in their bag. I've gamed 785's and could have been happy with those but upgraded to the ZX7's. I saw no benefit at all but they looked nice and I could get them for a good price as well.

The new Zx7 MKII irons have different weight placement which will mean likely absolutely nothing for my scores if were being honest, but they do have slightly less offset in nearly almost every iron. Seems like that might check the box for me, but if money was an issue or I didn't want to spend it on new irons, getting Zx7's stupid cheap is a no brainer.

Offset is the same between the models except for 0.1 - 0.2mm on a couple irons - very minimal if even noticeable. From my understanding the main and central change is just more weight behind the center.

Per GolfBox they have to halt all Srixon orders since they got pissed they let some slip to the US bc of licensing agreements, the rep told me they got sanctioned...if you got it already shipped I think you're good

@eugthedad damn that blows! then again, I noticed that all of Ping's new products forces you to request a quote and when you do, they only allow addresses from certain countries to request it. Figured Ping would stay on top of continental embargo especially regarding their largest market (US).

So I wandered around this forum, interested in the MkII and see this... and somehow, I now have an order for a set from Australia... wow. haha.

PS - wanted to share a quick update. I ordered a set online during the day today (12/14). Later this evening (Thurs. in AUS), I get a DHL email that a shipment is on its way with an ETA of Tues., 12/21. That is damn fast lol.

I wonder how well Srixon will meet domestic demands upon release because I ordered this 12/14 and it arrived today from Australia lmao. I'm contemplating even hitting it, considering my Ping i230s also showed up... ho life for 2 more weeks, then new year new me to stop this madness, ya feel? 😂

When the II's hit the forum I immediately decided I was going to buy a set... after player my ZX7's today (30-40th round?) I've decided to just continue with them at least one more year. There's really no way they could feel or work any better for me.

I'll admit I like the look of the II's better but I don't see the back of them at address...

Will be following the reviews closely of the folks that had the 7's and switch to the II's.

We're not sure if these are truly better than the 745s from 8 years ago. But if you want the latest, shiniest thing in the bag, then you go for it. Either way you'll be getting a great club.

hah. I got lightly used MKIs for about half the price of new, seemed hard to justify anything else

They’re pretty much the same,  I used the zx7 for about 18 months and can’t really tell a difference with these.  I just like changing.

Not relevant to performance, but I saw in the 2023 catalog that you will be able to customize the paintfill on the iron line this year 🙂

Does anyone know if the blades will be included in the release?

It's been 3 years since the Z Forged came out and they are also discounted along with the ZX5 and ZX7 so one would think they would be releasing a new version unless they're just not planning to offer a blade any longer. I think in the past they have come out a little later than the 5 and 7 series though so maybe that's why we haven't seen them.

Wow these look tight. I’m guessing the sweet spot is about the size of a dime and tucked a tad close hosel side. Sweet.

Based on the Mk I, that would be a very poor guess.

Too bad, I was hoping the first image I saw of these were a prototype. Wanted to give the Z-Forged a shot for 2023 but the huge Srixon font takes me back to an old Dunlop iron and a complete turnoff for me. Never seen an iron more deserving of some lead tape. If the back was blank or just the Z symbol they’d look much better. Probably feels outstanding , but certainly not a looker.

That AW is a bit odd. Probably looks fine at address. Bit would probably stick with a Cleveland zipcore.
