ZX5 stock shaft is actually a KBS shaft IIRC

I'm not sure but the post i quoted is i believe talking about GOLFBOX Australia who are allowing pre order on the ZX7 and ZX5 with Modus 120 and Modus 105 shafts. Was just pointing out that the 105 is the default on the ZX5 if the poster was interested in that model.

These are sick, Srixon irons have been underrated for a long time

Underrated by who? Anyone who is paying attention rates Srixon irons 5 out of 5 stars.

Looking at that face, more spin perhaps

That would be a good thing. The zx7 s can get a little knuckly.

I've had my ZX7 irons since January of 2020, which is unheard of for me. I did a fitting and have been completely happy with my decision over the past almost 2 years. I was hoping these would come out sooner than that January timeframe but not looking likely according to posts above. Can't wait to try out the new version and see if I notice anything different. My swing has changed a bit since I got these irons so I may need to go do a new fitting to see if the DG120 is still the best shaft for me.

Australian with an incoming order here.

ZX7 Mkii 4-P

Project X LZ 6.5 (+3/4”)

Lamkin Crossline Cord Midsize

Pics will be posted upon arrival.

Main thing I noticed in the fitting was a rounder top line on the face side only.

When flushed, they are every bit as butter soft as the original. Can’t wait to see on turf.

First off:

IMO, I don't think these could look any better without being a "pure" blade. Even then they are nothing short of stunning.

My only concern, if you can call it that, is how they are going to, will play differently in comparison to my current ZX7's.

I can't find a fault with them. Can't even think how I would like them to play differently.

Going to be interesting hitting them in the fitting bay. If there is some kind of improvement my golf buddies are going to hate them. 😉

These look good. Obvious differences are the increase in mass behind the sweet spot and some etching on the face between the grooves for spin management. Maybe less offset too? This set could be bent weak. Was hoping for a less square/thinner top line, but it must be what their pros like to see. Looking forward to testing these.

dude really just said "spin management"

I don’t think it’s an unfair statement given the ZX7 Gen1 were the lowest spin of any iron in that category, even when weakening.

They were a tremendous iron and honestly felt like they were built for steep swingers with the combo of the v sole and reduced spin.

I have always been a high spin player so these fit the bill perfectly. But they for sure could use a bit more spin for the majority of players.

They are the best iron I’ve played in 20 years for me.

Same.  It’s a tough ask to beat the best irons I’ve ever played.  I’m more of a picker and the v sole was excellent for me.   Can’t wait to hit them.  I’d take just a wee bit more spin

From the seamless blending of the ZX4, 5, & 7 irons to that gorgeous looking driver, this is the best looking lineup Srixon has ever released. I have no doubt these will be a smash.

Of course, it's not perfect. Making a non-adjustable fairway is a miss IMO.

That said, I can't wait to try it all.

    • In-hand photos of 2023 TaylorMade Stealth 2 Plus, Stealth 2, Stealth 2 HD drivers + fairways woods
Check out our front page launch stories here and here.

What you need to know: For the first time, carbon is the most prevalent material by volume in a TaylorMade driver, and more carbon equals better performance, says the company. Last year, TaylorMade debuted a 60X Carbon Twist Face. With TaylorMade Stealth 2, engineers are bringing carbon to more of the golf club — and unveiling a new-and-improved Carbon Twist Face in the process. Stealth 2 Plus (low spin, most workable) Stealth 2, and Stealth 2 HD (draw bias, high launch, most forgiving) drivers make up the Stealth 2 family.

      Stealth 2 HD

What you need to know: Breakthrough movable weight technologies and versatile designs are the hallmarks of the 2023 TaylorMade Stealth 2 fairway woods. Stealth 2 Plus is branded as “three fairway woods in one” owing to the unique performance characteristics afforded by the 50-gram sole weight. Stealth 2 features a slightly lower profile 3D carbon crown than Stealth. This moves CG down and away from the toe with more weight in the rear of the club for higher launch and MOI. Ultra-high MOI Stealth 2 HD features an oversized 200cc head and low-profile sole, creating an easy-to-hit, draw-biased club.
