Ping G430 irons – 2022 Shriners Children's Open

Recommended Posts

That PurFlex bit or medallion looks like it would work its way loose being in three pieces like it is. My OCD does not like it at all.

Hey at least they shouldn't get the "another boring game improvement iron" moniker 🙂

Though much is taken much abides;
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are;
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

For GI irons, I honestly like these pretty well. I'd like them even better if they hadn't put "PurFlex" on them.

Has Ping abandoned the i series line?

I210”s have been out of stock for about a year and a half and the are teasing another iron?

i230 “in hand” photos and pro testing started a few mos ago, and there’s a big thread on it (see link below). According to some people in that thread, theyll be launched as soon as early November.

Tbh of all the manufacturers, I really didn’t expect ping to submit to the loft jacking battle like this. A 41* pitching wedge, a 45, and a 50? Straight up embarrassing. A 45 is strong loft for a pw in its own right!

Yes and according to the g425 specs, that 41 degree g430 PW is stronger lofted than the g425 with power specs (42.5 degrees)!  That's crazy!!

Maybe they should get rid of the iron number and just stamp them all with the lofts!

Usually ping is pretty conservative with lofts. I’ll be interested to hear how they frame the jacked lofts. That puts the 7i around 26-27* right ?  Maybe just a case of tired of getting beat in online LM reviews.

Ping G425 Max 10.5*

Ping G425 SFT 5w

Exotics Trilogy 5h

Ping G425 6-GW

That 7i loft sounds about right!  Now what kinda lofts would you get if you ordered this set "power spec"?   lol

Not to be greedy, but need the comparison to the G425. I love the G425. Best shape for a G ever. Still big but not as large as they used to be. The G430 seem to be larger but can't be sure until see comparison pics.

Still stamping the club number on the face to cater for the idiots 😆

Now that is all I see. 🙂 I'm struggling to figure out how that is helpful. It's not like an elf magically switches my club from when I pull it out of the bag until I address the ball.
