Agreed.  That photo shows the more subtle transition from the front to back.  I'm sure if it sounds better it will be even more popular than the G425.

Think that’s the Max, which does have a more subtle transition than the LST with carbon.

I want to say I'll pass on the driver, but deep down I know the LST will be in my bag before long.

I've owned every Ping LST since the G30.

G400 was my favorite from a sound perspective. 410 didn't last long in the bag, but the 425 beat the 400 out.

Tried it with the 425 LST when I was given a replacement for my damaged 410 LST, not even close to similar performance or feel. Ended up doing a trade to get e 410 LST head back. I don’t think there is enough separation between the weights to get it to perform the same

I'm surprised it took Ping this long to return to using composite in the head.  I understand why Titleist never will use it again.  Titleist's last driver model with composite material is the reason why lions eat their young.  But Ping on the other hand had huge performance success with their composite head.  I have no clue how it sold, however you have to think that performance means something.  I'm shocked they didn't return to the well sooner.

I had a Rapture driver.  The crown cracked on it in 2010/2011 (mine was barely used)  and Ping Replaced it with a  Rapture V2.  I was told at that time by a Ping CS rep that they had to replace (by far) more of the Rapture drivers due to cracking issues than any other driver they made to that point.   Keep in mind, they didn't have to replace many as a whole. It's just the replacements went from virtually none to a few.  I think they have come  a long way since 2007.   Sometime more recently, a Ping CS rep told me the company didn't see enough of a performance benefit from the carbon crown and that is why they hadn't released one  as late as Spring 2022  (when I asked again).

Thought i'd post a little bit of info just in case no-one has mentioned a few things. I have just been shown these along with all the other 2023 lines and they look really nice, couldn't test them unfortunately. Tour release was October 3rd and fitting was sometime later, January in the EU and November in UAE(*shrug*) if i remember correctly. Not sure about the States but I skimmed and saw pre Christmas I "think". The sound frequency is over 4000 Hz compared to 2000 Hz ish for the G425, see how that one plays out as the G425 was an acoustic nightmare.

The pricing is bonkers but thats just the way its going, in the EU about 150€ more than the G425 makes it at least €650 for the Max and €680 for the LST. The new LST 3w is titanium and will cost, I quote "the price of a driver" ... holy **** batman.  Pings prices look like being at least 20-25% up, compared to last year.

Sounds like Ping has unlocked what they feel is enhanced performance from a carbon fiber crown setup. Most gains are incremental at best so this should be interesting.

I Just have to ask this as iv often wondered.- every proshop I go Into or any other golf store  even Americangolf  I go to the racks are full of unsold extremely expensive drivers (UK)  not just ping ,every brand  and including irons ect too.  Like, what do they do with all this unsold stock if they have to then replace it with new stuff. If they haven't sold alot of say the g425 do they think they will sell the new ping stuff? So what happens the old? Btw I'm currently looking for a g400 max by reading on here but is it too late to get it customised? Like diff. Shaft

Here they just move it to another rack and mark it down. Like $399 for the old model, $549 for the new one. A lot of people choose to save money on the previous generation.

Callaway Mavrik 9* - Rogue 125 70TX
Callaway Mavrik SZ 15* - Riptide 70 6.5
Cobra King 3 Utility - Kuro Kage 100X

Wilson FG Tour V6 - X100
Glide 3.0 46, 51, 56, 60 - X100
Scotty Cameron Newport 3

The LST is like a reverse Kardashian. Pretty top, ugly bottom.

I have to disagree with this on many levels. None of them have to do with the driver and all of them have to do with the Kardashians. I’m just praying I don’t think of those people when I look at a Ping driver the rest of my life.
