The sound is much better. The graphics aren't distracting -- if you could already handle turbs, the little outline is nothing.

If sound is your thing, you'll upgrade.

Did you hit LST only or LST and Max?

While I love the idea of the LST, I'm almost certain that the Max is going to be the club that fits better for me. For all of its flaws (mostly weight without a CB shaft and sound), I still miss my G400Max.

Aside from distance and sound, were there any other performance differences between the two that you all noticed?

Also, any chance one of you hit the G430 LST 3 wood?

The launch on the G430 was just over a degree higher in my numbers. But that’s likely more me and my delivery than any difference in the heads. Otherwise, it was very hard to see a difference between the the 430 and 410 for me personally.

Not in the market for new fairways so didn’t  test them.

The Kai'li was boardy.

The head felt lighter in swing weight when I put my tour 65x in it, but that could be placebo.

Flight was slightly higher, but the range balls were not exactly quality.

Did not hit Max or 3. Was there to try i230s; was mistakenly told they were in the batch, so it wasn't a big Pepsi Challenge.

Looks like no crossovers this year.

It's already on conforming list?

Sound and a relatively lower forgiveness (for me on that day) compared to the Cobra LTDx LS was what kept me from going with the G425 LST when I was fitted at the beginning of the summer. The sound was REALLY not my cup of tea.

May have to go back and try these new models (along with the TSR3/4.) I'm still not as consistent with my driver as I'd like.

What is amazing is the "carbon Fly" patent was filed over 5 years ago. It just shows how far ahead the RD teams are with these OEMS.

this is a genuine question - not judging. Why would one want a low spin 5 wood? Isn’t a 5 wood used to hold a green from a distance?

Higher swing speeds, and windy conditions. some three woods become moonshots. Tbh hybrids give me ideal numbers, but would like hybrid numbers with 5 wood forgiveness if that makes sense.

I have no use for a 3 wood in my yardage gapping but Ping woods spin a lot into the wind for me- almost to the point where hitting it on windy days is more detrimental to my game than hitting a 3 iron.

If I recall correctly, and as I was playing off single figures when 5 woods appeared on the scene, they were regarded as recovery clubs from semi-rough.

For windy links, all height is to be avoided, when possible, into wind and hybrids are problematic in this case.

for me, to avoid the draw bias that you get in varying degrees in everyone's standard heads....In this case the max

Would it be possible to turn a 7 wood down to open it? That assumes the yardage gap works for you. I don’t know why, but I had never thought of the need/desire for low spin in the 5 wood because I just see pros hitting it as high as possible to get it to stop quick. Still learning something new everyday!

depending on the loft sleeve your club has, the answer is yes - Callaway, ping do this as an example

Is the 430LST still less than 460cc like the 400LST?

I don’t see anything here kicking the 400s out of the bag. The 425 could have done it on looks, but didn’t like the sound and didn’t perform better. 400 still goated until further notice

G430 LST is 440cc and I think the G400 LST was 445CC.

I was able to play the Jubilee course alone, from the back tees in May so I hit two balls of most tees. When I hit iron vs 5 wood, it was incredible how much the heavy winds would play with the 5 wood shots vs. the iron shots.  Next time I'll probably bring some sort of 2 iron.
