Total tax was $48, free shipping, I admit I overpaid, but it was a year-end gift to myself…..bought on night of 11/24, arrived 11/29, pretty impressed with shipping……

I've been scrolling through ebay looking at sellers from Japan the last week trying to hold off. . .Nervous Ted Striker GIF by filmeditor

Hit my LST again today vs. my TSR3. Man, they are totally different but both awesome. I am definitely keeping both for a while. I have the stock Tour Chrome in stiff on the LST and it works great, but potentially a little light. The TSR I had fitted and has an extra +4 grams in the head, is 1/4 longer and has a much stiffer shaft so it feels much more sledgehammer-like than the LST. The LST I can turn over much easier, probably due to the shaft and weight, which I kind of like. The LST this year I think has a bit of a more shallow face on the driver which I'm not sure if I like or not. My main miss is low on the face and for whatever reason I feel like I tend to hit low on the face more often with shallow faced woods.  If I had to split hairs on these, I would say that might be a deciding factor. I kind of prefer the deeper face of the TSR...for now.

I finally was able to go to the range and my thoughts on the G430 lst 9 degree.

- it seemed to launch lower than other drivers with the same loft. it seemed to want to go straighter and not curve too much to the right as other drivers.

- it sounded interesting. i had the g425 max before and that was very loud. This has a similar sound but not quite as loud. i was hitting in a covered stall so that might have made it seem louder than it actually is. it sounded like a ping, literally. not the thwack of the stealth or other taylormades.

- the face seemed to get ball marks on it fairly easily. I guess this is a good thing if you want to see where you hit it. couldn't do that with the stealth.

I really like this driver. It doesn't carry further than the stealth I think and launches a lot lower, but it might go longer due to the rollout. I am okay with the sound and it seems to be pretty forgiving.

I will be playing today and tomorrow and am curious how it performs on the course with some non-range balls.

It does feel cool playing a driver that won't come out for another couple months here in the US.

Good stuff here, thanks for sharing. Not sure if it'll be possible, but if you get a chance to take both the G430 LST and the Stealth out today and tomorrow and can tee them both up and play two balls on a few holes, I'd love to hear more about the comparison!

Sorry if this has already been mentioned but I played Westin Kierland in Scottsdale today and they are fitting into 430 since last week. You can’t get it before the release “some time in January” but you can get fit and ordered so you should be able to pick it up the day of release. The person I spoke with wasn’t 100% certain on all shafts they have but they have the stock options and ventus.

Thanks for this

one question is your comment on it not wanting to curve too much to the right

sounds like it has a bit of draw bias is my question

let me know your sense

appreciated

Ok, this pains me to a degree, but I think the Ping Max30 has kicked the Titleist TSR2 out of the bag…….I don’t do trackman or any type of launch monitors, just on course results and feel…….variables aside (short tees, weather resulting in pin seeking opportunities, good wedge play from 110 yards in)) shot my lowest round of the year today, gamed this head 3 rounds…….the Tensei Pro White 1K may have something to do with it, but I hit this shaft in the Titleist heads too, going back to the 917……blessed, looks like the Max is going to stay in the bag…..

Took the G430 LST 9 Degree out to the course the past two days. Some thoughts

Sound - It sounds pretty nice. Not sure how to describe it, but it sounds very fast and powerful

forgiving - had a few bad drives but i think they would have been worse if I had my stealth

i don't know if it is more draw bias, maybe? my ball was going a lot lower than normal so I actually had to adjust it up 1 degree. I think that closes the face so maybe that is why it is not going so much to the right?

I think the Kaili White is a stock offering in Australia, so maybe it will be in the US as well. Also, the new tour shafts are pretty stiff tip.

I’ve never like the tour shaft they used. The last shaft I really liked was an old tfc shaft they had back in the g25 line. I believe Aldila made that shaft

The million dollar question we're all waiting for is whether or not these drivers sound better.

Alex Etches did a youtube review on the Max, and the sound was noticeably better.

I got the g430 max last week.  Took it to my back yard net cold and strained my back really bad.  Just now getting back on my feet, but I probably can't start making swings for another week or so.  By then, the driver will be released to retail lmao!!    Needless to say I'm pounding my head against the wall as the driver is just sitting in my bag.

Looks awesome. I'm definitely eager to hear your feedback on all of it -- particularly the Tour 2.0 shaft. I have the hybrid version, 85 stiff, in my iCrossover, and am getting along really well with it so far.

Are you guys just reaching out to Golf Partners USA and they're ordering them from Japan?  I checked their website and see one Max on their site but thats it.

I mean I should probably wait and get fit, but you know...

TBD - G430 Max 15* - 818 H2 19*- Sub 70 Pro 23* - i525 6-U - SM9 54* / 58* / 62*  - F22

It’s whatever used/demo they have in their inventory. They had a handful of drivers last week and looks like they are down to just the one now.
