I caved a bought a G430 LST today with the Kai'li shaft.  I also bought a G425 5 hybrid.  I only went in to the golf store buy a hat.

Time will tell, but the LST put up some nice numbers, and went very straight on not so pleasant swings.  BS was around 158mph with 2200 spin on well struck shots which is excellent for me.  I love the look of it too.  Below was a great reference when I was getting fit, although I don't crunch too many numbers.  If it goes straight, carries around 275 yards + and feels and sounds great, I am sold.

They are the same. Although there are some shafts that are "Japan Specific".

Agreed. I weighed the G430 Max head at 199g without adapter fyi.

The new Tour Black 65 shaft is quite Ventus Black ish bend profile. The Tour Chrome 65 is Ventus Blue ish.

Both made by Fujikura I think I’ve read.

The Black 65 X was quite stout and I missed it left in 9* LST as I was working to load it. Chrome 65 X was consistent and neutral.

In cold weather so far Black 65 Stiff in G430 Max has been a nice tweener flex.

Ordered Graphite Design M9003 6 X to try on warmer days.

3 and 5 wood MAX also quite good with the Tour Black 75 X.  Sound and feel quite a bit better the the Clank of G425 fairways.

This is the comparison I’ve been waiting for. Are the heads the same height? Any performance differences you’re noticing so far?

Seem a bit deeper, less shallow but not by a lot and I haven’t measured. G425 MAX Fairways performed similar but to me sounded awful.  G430 more in line with a Callaway Rogue sound for example.

An upgrade over G425 for sure - but more of a preference tweak than performance.

Three rounds with the LST so far, with the Kaili shaft.  Very penetrating ball flight and seems much straighter than my G400 with the Tour 65x.  It also feels very slightly head heavier which I really like.  Off centre shots are forgiven and it's a solid, powerful feel.  Enjoying the driver very much thus far.  The G425 hybrids are also $$$.  So solid.

Why oh why couldn’t they make the LST driver with the same carbon fade as those fairways?

I could be wrong, I've looked at so many new clubs, but I believe that is not carbon on the FW's, it's made to just look like they do.

According to the link below only the G430 Max driver does not have the carbon crown.  The fairway woods, hybrids, and G430 LST all have carbon crowns.

@JustinD got me into a tpt. Feels really really nice. Also have tensei orange 1k and your ad XC but haven’t messed around with those in this head

I'm envious, 177mph ball speed is no joke!!

I think I have four rounds now and have when you catch it solid, fabulous results.  Misses are really good too.

I have a brand new TSR2 still in the wrapper with stickers on it I’m saving for when these launch. Pretty sure I can trade it in at most places. I just need to hit the driver first and see how it plays. I had a 9* 425 LST early from Golf Partner and it didn’t spin enough for me.

that's my worry on the LST as well - will it spin enough for me....

otherwise it's the max - just hope the bias is as neutral as possible in it - found 425 a little too draw prone

fingers crossed!!!

will hit them both for certain

anyone with an early take - please let me know

appreciated

Not worried about spin but more about loft. Won’t do the Max. Just need to figure out where spin is for each loft and go from there.

Played G430 Max 9* again yesterday and found it neutral to slight fade bias with the back weight centered. For me, it was easier to miss the LST left in both lofts.

Even not having the carbon crown in the Max, I don’t think anyone is going to find the sound traditionally Ping offensive. Less high pitch and resonant than TSR2.

This is my 15 range ball write up based on my experience with 425…

seems to launch a degree or 2 higher than 425 lst. I played the 10.5 425LST and never played it less than 9.5*… was able to turn down the 9* 430 to 7.5 and didn’t get a single knuckleball. Launched in a nice mid window and had a flat flight. Sound and feel are great

I plan on pre-ordering the G430 max driver in a couple of weeks with the HZRDUS smoke red rdx shaft. Looks like the standard length with that shaft is 45.25”. If I pre-order it at 45”, you think Ping will add a bit of weight to head (ie: 27g rear tungsten instead of 25g) or no?

Just ask them to put a 27g weight in or ask them for a certain swingweight.
