New Cleveland RTX 6 ZipCore Tour Rack wedges – 2022 Shriners Children's Open

Recommended Posts

Oh no. I'm not liking these at all.

It's interesting and disappointing that Srixon make such great looking irons, yet Cleveland's offerings are so visually unappealing.

Cleveland need a complete rethink and redesign IMO. In fact, I wouldn't be sad if they got rid of the Cleveland brand entirely and just made forged wedges under the Srixon banner.

My current RTXs are still good, but I’ll give these a serious look at our next demo day.

I'm sure these perform well, but every since Roger moved to Callaway I've never liked how Cleveland's hosel transitions into the rounded leading edge in a little bit of a gooseneck kinda way.  I've always preferred a cleaner/straight transition and a straighter leading edge.  Just my personal preference...

Exactly, that was my favorite part about the original 588’s.  I should have bought a lifetime supply of the ones with zip grooves when I had the chance.

Felt really nice in hand. Face seemed solid and was nice to look down at at address. The raw version felt super sturdy. Switching from Tour SM8s. They will also offer custom grinds for each wedge which will be nice.

I’m a full on Cleveland wedge convert precisely because I love that rounded leading edge. This looks absolutely perfect at address to my eye. Gives me the confidence to manipulate the face all kids of ways. Square faces make me want to hit square shots, and I’m just not a square shot kinda guy. Sure, the badging is too busy compared to ZC tour rack or the RTX4 which is some of best badging ever, but it’s still more minimal than other brands which I appreciate. Def a cop after I wear through my raw ZCs

Also the ZC moving the CG to the toe is underrated. I live on the toe with a wedge and the ball mark in the photo would be pure with no noticeable loss in feel. Honestly that is a big part why I switched from Mizuno and Vokey

Sounds like it’s an acquired taste but for those who fit into it Cleveland just makes the best wedges right now

I absolutely love my Zipcores.  Some of my favorite wedges.  Had my local shop out a custom grind on my 56 and 52.  Performance is incredible.  I only like straight leading edge on my gap wedge as that’s a full shot club.  These will get a look when mine wear out.

After being pretty repulsed by the initial photos, the more I see the RTX6 the more it grows on me. In hand they look really damn good. Some black paint fill or paint strip on the TOUR RACK should do the trick.

Can’t say enough about how good my current zipcores have performed.  These will definitely get a good look as soon as they are available.  Might go custom grinds on the next set.

Some nice refinement, but the OG Zipcores are so cheap and likely will perform similar enough.

Love my current Zipcores and the ability to easily order custom setups. I have 54 Full with back grind, this is similar to 54 Mid but with just a touch more bounce. It's basically an S-grind.

Also have the 58 Mid with Heel/Toe grind. Excellent. I wish they would just make a stock 58/60 C-grind with like 8-9 bounce. I guess they do in the Full Face but I have a hard time with that look. And of course they have the low bounce 6 but it just looks a little too sharp to me.

Have KBS 610 wedge shafts in both of them.
